Haiti (including R2's Francois Dulysse) plays Bermuda in Ft Lauderdale tonight. Winner joins group B in the Gold Cup and will face the US on Sunday (Jul 11).

US plays Martinique on Jul 15, then Canada (Turner vs Buchanan) on Jul 18th.

With Davies out injured Tajon got the start for Canada at LWB in a 3-5-2.

He was absolutely dynamic attacking down the left, and earned the assist on Canada's 2nd goal

Haiti kept Turner good and busy in the Nats 1-0 win last night!

He also had a secondary assist on the 3rd goal, and blocked a shot:

Dulysse and Herivaux on the bench, but did not play, for Haiti vs US.

It was initially tough to know, as the coverage somehow didn't bother showing the lineups.

Both Dulysse (haiti) and Buchanan (Can) starting as group b kicks off tonight.

Great 76 minutes from Tajon. Assisted on Canada's 2nd goal. Was dangerous all day.

Dulysse was solid in the 1st half, but broke down as the game goes on. In the 90' he picked up a stupid red taking Ayo Akinola out of a breakaway chance (he converted the pen anyway)

So proud of these 2. Turner did everything that could be asked. Only 1 goal allowed in 2 games, and that was a PK.

Yeah both were good yesterday. Tajon was saucey. I think his matchup with Robinson showed that he needs to better evaluate his 1v1 ability. He kept trying to turn him and burn him, and Robinson had the quickness to keep up.

Needs a plan B against better defenders.

Turner is of course still the GOAT

Tajon was fantastic (except for losing his man on the goal). I was 100% convinced that his curler late in the game was going to find the far post. Of course, in this case, I'm glad he didn't. But I'm fully expecting to see someone make an offer for him and the Revs to lose him next season.

Turner was solid, and those two saves were fantastic. But I feel like he's been giving up some rebounds the last three games, which has me concerned. Maybe I've just been amazed by the saves he's made for the Revs, but I don't remember him coughing up rebounds all that much.

In the Canada/Haiti game, one of the announcers commented on how when Tajon gets the ball you get right out of your seat; because something exciting might be about to happen. I hope he gets to finish the season with the Revs. I don't expect him around next year.

I believe I've read that they've rejected a $3.5M offer for him - and that Juventus is interested. I think it's %100 he'll be gone after the season; I think it's only Arena's cache that can assure he stays the remainder of this year.

And, with potentially really big transfer money for Tajon and Turner, I wonder how effective that $ can be in replacing them/upgrading. I'm pretty sure that MLS gets a big share of transfer money, but I don't know the rules about how much actually comes back to the club - and how we can use it (given that we already have 3 DPs).

nope! They changed the transfer rules 2 years ago. MLS gets very little transfer money (5%) for non homegrown players.

Unfortunately only a certain amount (up to $3M?) can be converted into GAM for paying contracts for non-DPs, but it can be used to facilitate transfer fees

Buksa's deal will be up at the end of the year. If they re-sign him i think his fee would come off his salary and he be able to count as a TAM player opening a DP slot

Add Kessler to the list of players away on national team duty.

    There goes our defense

So much for Arena's plan to hide Kessler. ;)

Good for him. He's an injury replacement for what is mostly a B-team (not Turner) but that still has to be a thrill

People say the MLS draft is irrelevant but Dike and Kessler at least were recent draftees and Turner wasn't even drafted, incredible as that seems now

Ho-hum. Another set of difficult saves, another Gold Cup shut out. Just another day at the office for our Matt Turner. Now the US faces World Cup hosts Qatar on Thursday. Qatar is averaging 3 goals per game in this tournament.

Tajon and Canada get a date with Mexico on Thursday.

Dare to dream, but a US/Canada final would be awesome!

I thought Jamaica gave the US quite a good game. The US wore them down at the end on got their goal, but that was one of the hardest-working, most energetic Jamaican teams that I can remember - and it made for a lively and competitive game.

Turner had to be on his toes and made a couple of nice saves - none quite highlight reel, but not easy either.
