Yes, they could all easily have the chance to become vaccinated. The IOC should have ordered vaccine 5.months ago. Even if they only thought about it in June, they could, in a matter of minutes I suspect, obtain enough vaccine for everyone who was not vaccinated. Then, two or three weeks prior to the games, as athletes begin to head to Japan, require proof of vaccine or they would be vaccinated. It is not like they don't have medical professionals to do it. It should have been a no-brainer for them to do it.
And I know this puts the athletes from many counties in some elitist position because their country might not have the vaccines available. But I'm still okay with that because we need to do everything we can to contain the spread, and thus the mutations.
I hope this asshole dies very quick to free the unnecesarily by own stupid choices occupied ICU for people who need it because of something not out of their own stupidity.I'll paray you go very soon, asshole.
And I just read on CNN that the pastor of his church has announced the death to his congregation, saying that getting vaxxed is a personal decision. Two years ago, if anyone had submitted a movie proposal describing the anti-vax events and attitudes we are now witnessing, they'd have been laughed at.
I lost any compassion, any patience, any urge to reason to these cvnts, while millions have died a terrible death and their anti measures rethorics and conspiracy/denial of covid severity messaging are a slap in the faces of the health carers and the casulties family members and friends. I feel such an urge to go out and use an old fashioned wooden baseball bat on the heads of protesters polluting the streets with their insanity. Alas then I get jailed.

If only there was a way for the US To help: https://www.spiked-online.com/2021/07/23/the-coming-collapse-of-the-developing-world/ Moreover, since the pandemic started, the income of developing countries has fallen for the first time in 60 years. The United Nations predicts that the pandemic recession could plunge as many as 420million people into extreme poverty (which is defined as earning less than $2 a day). In Latin America, Covid fatality rates are now eight times the global average. The poverty rate had fallen by 45 to 30 per cent over the past two decades, but now the ranks of the impoverished have swelled by nearly 45million, according to the UN. In Mexico alone, Covid has caused at least 16million more people to fall into extreme poverty, according to a study by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). In many countries, such as Colombia, the pandemic has also led to a rapid rise in murder rates, and an increase in general disorder. In the West, meanwhile, businesses tied to professional, financial and technical industries survived the pandemic, with many white-collar professionals keeping and even growing their incomes. The number of billionaires actually surged in the rich countries. Things are different in the developing world. Whereas upwards of 40 per cent of all work in high-income countries can be done remotely, in developing countries most work takes place in the informal economy, where ‘face to face’ contact is necessary. Indeed, only 10 per cent of jobs can be done remotely. In India, informal workers represent over 80 per cent of the working population; in Africa, they represent 66 per cent; and in Egypt, the most populous country in the Arab world, they represent over 60 per cent. So, as Westerners closeted themselves in their dwellings, many urban residents of the developing countries rode out the pandemic in the most crowded places on Earth – Manila, Baghdad, Mumbai, Dhaka, Port au Prince – with little in the way of sanitation or adequate healthcare. These cities, noted Laurie Garrett three decades ago in The Coming Plague, are ideal breeding grounds for infectious diseases. In the past few decades, the rise of ‘urban thirdworldisation’, including in China, has helped generate SARS, MERS, swine flu and now Covid-19. Anthony Fauci, a widely quoted medical adviser to the US president, has already identified potential new viruses incubating in China, and warns that more pandemics may arise in the near future. The ability of developing countries to respond to such assaults remains tragically limited. Covid and its variants can be contained with vaccinations, but most developing countries suffer from pathetically low vaccination rates. Despite the West’s global vaccination pledges, nine out of 10 African countries, according to the UN, are set to fall short of their vaccination targets. In South Africa, as of 2 June, only two people in every thousand had been fully vaccinated. Perhaps the most heart-breaking statistic is that 228,000 children were killed in South-East Asia – not because of the disease, but because of the effects of lockdowns, from unemployment to rising malnutrition. The longer the pandemic persists, the greater the separation will become between high-income and poor countries. Fear of infection has a chilling effect on investors, who fear visiting impacted countries. In some countries, the massive decline in tourism, as well as the impact of lockdowns, has proven catastrophic. The International Monetary Fund has predicted that in the Caribbean, where tourism accounts for between 50 and 90 per cent of income and employment, revenues will ‘return to pre-crisis levels only gradually over the next three years’. This decline will also be felt in larger developing countries, such as Mexico, Turkey, Thailand and the Philippines – as well as more traditional travel hubs, such as Spain and Italy. But it’s like we cannot change the way things are: Vaccinating the world would arguably do more to save American lives than whatever that budget increase would go toward. https://t.co/vpjpZFFy6u— PoliticsGirl (@IAmPoliticsGirl) July 24, 2021
Before the vaccines became available, but when they were expected to be available soon, I wrote here about how I was concerned that it would go just like it has. At least one person here disagreed with me, saying that once the vaccines were an option, most of the COVID deniers would change their minds and opt to be vaccinated.
I admit that I was probably one. If not out loud, then in my head. But I'm not going to apologize for being an optimist.
Developer of Moderna vaccine begging people to get it Please. Pretty please. With a cherry on top. I’m still begging. That’s just where I am. I have the data in a thread on my page but at this point… just please go. To. Day. https://t.co/zZh6G2aXq7— KizzyPhD (@KizzyPhD) July 24, 2021
I don't think anyone needs to apologize -- especially for something as trivial as that. My point was simply that even here, I think plenty of people have been surprised at just how absurd things have become.
They are already in "elitist positions," which has been a major complaint about the Olympics for decades.

So vaccines may be the next flash point between the NFL and it's players. Some players do not want to get vaccinated, the NFL is saying they will be fined if they break protocols. He is Prescott invoking HIPPA https://sports.yahoo.com/dallas-cowboys-dak-prescott-inspires-010701341.html?fr=sycsrp_catchall Some players comments on the new rules https://ftw.usatoday.com/lists/nfl-players-deandre-hopkins-rules-vaccines-outbreaks The rumors at first were that if outbreaks happened teams wold be forced to forfeit the games, but it looks like the NFL pulled back from that (TV networks would lose too much money I bet). https://www.cnn.com/2021/07/22/sport/nfl-covid-forfeit-vaccine/index.html Here is a breakdown of the new rules. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...ted-players-14650-violation-covid-19-protocol
the NFL screwed up by saying that if a game was forfeited due to one team having non-vaxxed players, both teams would lose their pay for the game. I fully support the intent, but that was just dumb.
