Wasn't the loan to cover wages? At some point players shrugging it off and saying I'm just here for the money are going to find themselves at clubs which can't pay the money and find themselves wishing they had considered the bigger picture. I'm not even sure some of these guys at some of these clubs are getting paid regularly.

 

Barca transfer window is rly good so far.Eric is great talented defender,and they still want to sign one more defender while selling Umtiti and Lenglet...Remember they got 3 young defenders in Oscar M,Araujo and Mingo.While we have Vallejo Emerson did great at Betis too.
And they still are interested in Laporte and Cristian Romero from Atalanta..
When u see how they are stacked with talent in team and coach who is not afraid to play them.They are making the new machine...

No one wants Umtiti whose knee is done and on ridiculously high wages. Garcia barely played for City and didn't look any good in Euros. Laporte when they are broke. Pipe dreams. Moriba has been frozen out because he wants to leave after rejecting best offer Barca could make under current financial situation btw. And Koeman doesn't rate Puig and told him to go on loan last summer. He barely played after deciding to stay. So maybe pay some attention to the actual situation next time.

Chiellini still is a free agent.
The possibility of signing him as a stop-gap for a season doesn't sound so bad to me if Varane leaves this transfer window.

 

My thoughts about that would be how much would we have to pay him and, one of the points i see mentioned a lot here with reference to most being happy to see him go is Rafa has "lost a step", if most now think Rafa is too slow for how we play can't see how Chellini would fit

Goretzka could easily get 10 ME nett wages on free transfer on top of 15-20 ME signing bonus. Don't think Bayern will put him in Lewa, Neuer tier in terms of wages.
