Looks like Celtic signed Carl Starfelt. Celtic have reached an agreement with Rubin Kazan to sign Carl Starfelt, done deal and here we go. €5m as final fee - negotiations completed. Next target: Brandon Soppy. ⚪️🟢 #CelticOfficial announcement soon for Starfelt, personal terms agreed as advanced one week ago. 👇🏻 https://t.co/2X9k2zqb48— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) July 14, 2021
Starfelt had been linked to Celtic a few weeks ago and many thought the interest died off because there was reportedly some unnamed Bundesliga clubs in the mix. Very surprised they nabbed Starfelt. I don’t necessarily know if this signing kills a CCV to Celtic but it certainly feels that way.
The bigger question now is whether Ajer goes to Newcastle. Because if he does that may freeze CCV out of both landing spots.
Agreed. Although Ajer is gone either way. The Starfelt signing sealed that fate. Newcastle has been in the thick of it with Ajer but Norwich has been lurking.
Which means Ajer moves to Newcastle and CCV moves to Norwich. I certainly hope so. Given the ownership situation and the coach they have, things could go very well this season - 10th and a good Cup run - or very badly and they finally get relegated. I'd rather CCV didn't go there to find out.
CCV starts in a preseason friendly for Spurs. 𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗠 𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 ⚪️ Hart, Cesay, Carter-Vickers, Dier (C), Paskotsi, John, Winks, Lucas, Dele, Bergwijn, Scarlett. pic.twitter.com/qZxm3GoxSr— Tottenham Hotspur (@SpursOfficial) July 17, 2021 Spurs are streaming the friendly for free. It is in the 15th minute.
Kristoffer Ajer looks set for shock move to newly promoted Brentford. Rumors have if that Ajer said no to Newcastle and he was set to join Leverkusen then Brentford swooped in and looks to be completing a £13.5M transfer. So in all craziness of the silly season Ajer may not end up effecting a transfer for CCV to Celtic or Newcastle. Who knows what the hell is going on in the silly season!
They played Leyton Orient. Spurs were up 1-0 when he came off in the 64th minute. I wasn't watching so I can't speak to how he played. 64 - Substitutes for Spurs! ➡️ White, Parrott, Clarke, Eyoma, Fagan-Walcott, Omole, Bowden, Lyons-Foster, Mundle, Devine⬅️ Dier, Winks, Lucas, Dele, Bergwijn, Carter-Vickers, Scarlett, John, Paskotsi, Cesay🔴 #LOFC 0-1 #THFC ⚪️ pic.twitter.com/a2d0VzvaYP— Tottenham Hotspur (@SpursOfficial) July 17, 2021

There's no chance he's going to get a look from the new manager, is there? The talk has constantly been that they're looking to sell, but that's basically a lineup of first team players, more or less. Wonder if there's an outside possibility he could hang around as a backup CB. Wouldn't be the craziest thing, a 23 year old coming off a successful loan for a top Championship team.
Really happy to see him get some starts for Spurs in the preseason but, Colchester is league 2... so I don't see us learning much. Spurs are streaming the game for free right now: https://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/orientspurs170721/
Sadly, no. The Euros are over and deals are starting to happen in general. In the particular, Spurs' new position of managing director of football has been filled by Juve's former director of football Fabio Paratici. He and Nuno Espiritio Santo have just started work, so the recruitment drive is will now get into gear and fast. At the moment, they're targeting €25m-rated Bologna CB and Japan international Takehiro Tomiyasu. The two sides are only €5m apart, but if a deal doesn't go through, Atalanta's Argentine Copa America winner Cristian Romero is plan B. Technically, Romero's on loan from Juve, but there's an option-to-buy for €13m, so there's a tidy profit of about €7m to be made by Atalanta. Once one of those deals gets done, CCV will be on his way I'm afraid and he won't be alone. Spurs have 6 CBs on the books already and he, Rodon and Tagana are the most vulnerable. One of them will have to be sold and another will go on loan. Of the three, CCV is the only one with no EPL appearances for Spurs over the last two seasons, which makes him the cheapest and thus the most likely to go.
I watched about last 20 minutes of 1st half. Wasn't much for CCV to do but he certainly looked composed doing it.
I hate the term, but Dele might be like a new signing for them. He seems like the prototypical Espirito-Santo player in the middle of the park. It is very hard for me to understand how CCV doesn't have a forever home currently at his age, experience level and with what he showed last season.
People have been counting Aaron Long's impending transfer to Liverpool and other EPL teams for years now, so I don't think that would be new territory.
Newcastle's arbitration hearing with the Premier League over last year's aborted takeover has been postponed until 2022, which could hurt their chances financially this summer.— Larry Henry Jr (@lhenry019) July 21, 2021
Ooooof! Not to diminish Celtic… but week in and week out against EPL squads is far more desirable for his development than maybe, possibly, making the group stage of champions league every couple of years - so hopefully it’s Newcastle in the end
