They are definitely way higher than 417k. 6 million sounds high? I don't really know, just that 417k is not accurate.
If the death rate was 1% of the infected, we’re looking at 8-9 million casualties. How many people die in India each day under normal conditions?
According to the latest data here that presumably includes just under 24% of people who have received at least one jab so, logically, you'd have to take that off the figure which in January would have been far lower. IOW it's not an increase from 24% to 67%, it's from 24% to 43% who have been gained antibodies by infection, i.e. without a vaccination. I mean, it's still a shit-load of people... I'm just saying.
This analysis says that Indian excess deaths are 4.9 million - https://www.reuters.com/world/india...es-are-lowest-daily-figure-4-mths-2021-07-20/
Yikes. Also bad: we’re probably going to see Brummie quote a post of his from May 2020 or so saying that India will see somewhere between 4-7million COVID deaths.
I spent much of last autumn posting in this thread and working on a documentary. I hope you like the doc somewhat more than you liked my posts:
An unfortunate byproduct of the covid epidemic occurs in the Netherlands. Due to the covid measures the normally in winter occurring RS-virus cold "epidemic" has been delayed to this summer. As a result of that pregnant women havenot built up antibodies they could pass on to their unborn child. So now we have unprotected babies flooding our children IC's with RS infections. We already had to move one baby to an IC in Belgium.
It's funny, because on the one hand the sloppy argument she makes invites one to bite the bullet and say "Yes, those should also be free. I concede that point. However that doesn't mean you shouldn't get your covid vaxx." And on the other hand it invites one to try to help her understand that diabetes and asthma aren't communicable diseases and the other sort of, you know, facts about Covid. But there is of course no point to either.
His neighbor aside, I'm amazed we haven't heard of any more retaliations against him. I wouldn't be surprised if someone stuffed him in a trash can in school and nothing happened because he's a such an asshole.
Considering vaccinated people can still get covid, I'm not a fan of making people pay for tests.. Maybe continue to make it free for vaccinated people, but charge those that are unvaccinated...
So, this may be of interest.. If you do a google trends for "Covid Vaccine" over the last week, you'll notice that a certain 2 states are seeing a spike in interest in the vaccine. https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=now 7-d&geo=US&q=covid vaccine
No, people should not be charged for the tests. I am fully vaccinated (and have been since mid-April). I have felt like crap the past couple of days. Figured it was just a cold, but I went ahead and had a COVID-19 test. It was still free, but the vaccine site is now only open one half day per week (Wednesday afternoon) and I was the only person there. The staff was a single nurse and a single administrator. Fortunately, I tested negative. Looks like it is just a cold.
If you are referring to Macron's stance, the fee for tests is laid out for unvaccinated people who want to do things. It doesn't address tests for vaccinated people.
Numbers moderating in the UK? The surge appears to have leveled off. Early days still, but something positive.
It was so easy to get a shot. This is what you get for being politically stupid..! “An Alabama doctor has revealed heartbreaking details about her recent conversations with patients dying from COVID-19, amid a surge in cases caused by the Delta variant in the state with the lowest vaccination rate in the nation. "I'm admitting young healthy people to the hospital with very serious COVID," Dr. Brytney Cobia wrote in a Facebook post on Sunday. "One of the last things they do before they're intubated is beg me for the vaccine. I hold their hand and tell them that I'm sorry, but it's too late.” https://www.rawstory.com/unvaccinated-patients/
I'm not sure Reps are against the Dow dropping as that makes good campaign fodder. But, if they lose a disproportionate amount of voters to Dems, that will get them going towards a more pro-vax view.
Was discussed here yesterday, very briefly. As you might expect, the nuttyverse is out there posting comments of "give 'em hell Rand" and "thank goodness Fauci is being exposed for what he is" and so on.
