It isn't the loss we're facing in itself. It's that, in years, we were used to a Nadeshiko Japan side that was a pleasure to watch: now, we're playing really badly!
Sugita for Nakajima right now ay 75'. I would have started with Miura-Sugita and Nakajima at Shiokoshi's place.
If I had the same level of anger that UrinatngTree (a YouTuber) has, I would be preparing a video to RAGE-RANT about the state of Nadeshiko Japan right now. UT is a fan of professional Pittsburgh teams, so he can be quite nuclear when those teams lose badly. I feel like that right now about our Nadeshiko.
Who was the one that made that wonderful long-range assist from our half of the pitch? Shimizu? Edit: I see @KAPIJXM asked my same question.
We're going to sure have a very long injury-time, because of Labbé's injury in the action of the PK. Edit: exactly, it's 8 minutes! (I don't remember having seen so many very often).
F.T. Canada 1 Japan 1.........it could have been worse guys......in fact if not for Manadona it would have been
1-1 is the final result. Don't let the wonder goal blind you from the fact that it was like watching a dumpster fire. They better win it against Chile, but I expect nothing against the British if things go on like this.
1-1 FT. We were lately saved by Iwabuchi from an absolut disaster, but, considering our group, it isn't anyway a good result (the same way the 0-0 vs Argentina at WWC 2019 wasn't). We could very well lose to GB and then we would be facing a must-win final match vs Chile, probably for nothing more anyway than a best-placed-third-team qualification. Iwabuchi is the reason why we can't give up. But, after watching this match, it's hard to believe that we can do good at this tournament.
Out of curiosity, does anyone know which player we brought on the bench for this match? Were they all from the original roster or was there any of the "alternates"? Also, even upon rewatching the action, I couldn't identify our assist-women from today (although, given the position that long drive started from, I suspect it could have been Shimizu).
I feel a little bit disappointed because it seems like people doesn't take my opinion seriously or maybe not even reading my messages at all lol I think quite a long time ago and quite a few times, I've already explained the situation about certain players and positions within Japanese NT. But the main concern I have, NT coaching staff, seems to quite disagree with a couple of my statements such as: The only decent goalkeeper "we" have is Yamashita, full stop. This is just beyond me, how anyone can start ahead of her. I've already explained that statement quite a few times, so I just don't understand how come she is not our first choice for every single important game. I guess the only reason behind putting Ikeda in goal, is that she can play out of defence a little bit better (using her feet), too bad she can't use her hands at all, dropping almost every single ball out... What Sugasawa brings to this NT I still don't understand... Her size? She only has any "size" advantage on other Asian Nations, not on Canada, Sweden, UK, Germany, USA etc. Apart from that what else she brings in? Seriously, just put useless Tanaka (AKA Timo Werner) in, at least she will be making some runs, trying to get penalties on her (obviously don't let her take one). Or even better, put Jun Endo in and let her make the runs! Or even better, put Kobayashi in! Wait, I guess we can't do that at the moment... Left-back, enough said... It is what it is. Right-back, for those who don't listen. We have a world-class right-back, or at least pretty close to that. p/s for all you haters, Miura played well today! She actually covered that left-back position quite a few times, recovering the balls. Near the end, she made a few mistakes, but like everyone else I suppose, those passes by Japan were horrible today. p/p/s how come Tanaka took that penalty when Iwabuchi was on the pitch as well? How come Mana just didn't take that penalty herself? This one question is beyond me as well...
