Separators for thousands I meant, which I now realize isn't what the chart shows.

Can't figure out if it was the drop in the Dow or the breakouts among the unvaccinated. Something spooked them good.

It's quite common in my part of the world, even though officially a space has been used since we adopted the metric system in the 1970's.

Having lived in all of NZ, UK and Germany and also done a lot of euro translation - it is indeed the case that Germany and the other Euros switch the use of , and decimal point.

It comes up quite a bit in translation as frequently translators don't realise to translate the decimal point to a comma

I am sure we can all agree decimal point is superior :p

As long as it is consistently applied to any spreadsheet it does not matter.

Agreed but i think visually the english way is better. "decimal comma" feels wrong to me

I'm in England today and while I could tell you which demographic of people aren't (isn't?) wearing masks (while everyone else is), I don't need to tell you and you don't need to guess.

They all have a lot of "economic anxiety," I reckon.

    Just no.

Here in Italy, we'll keep using the decimal comma, unfazed by American cultural colonialism. :ninja:

As you can see the anti-vaxx stuff is still ongoing

We have to see if there is any genuine change. I suspect if anything, some of the wingnut right realised they might be creating a political losing issue if the pandemic rages in red states - but that is in conflict with the usual grift of capitalising on fear and hate that is out there in the fever swamp

All at the rate-payers expense. One of the reasons I asked the question on account of I'm one of them.

So, she's saying they should also be free? Y'know, that appears to be the implication although, obviously, the lack of them just kills the individual whereas someone getting a new variant might kill me so there's that I suppose.

One of the many reasons why just drawing simplistic straight-line analogies is usually a bad idea.

You probably saw, but Rand Paul finally pushed Fauci over the edge yesterday, and Fauci blew up at him. About time. Randy is the most arrogant of all the Senators, and that, my friends, is saying a whole damn lot.

Insulin has been capped at $35 a month for Medicare members.

Not free but not nearly the expense it used to be.

Study shows 67% of the population of India has covid antibodies, that is ridiculous

    https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...ntibodies-detected-in-67-of-indias-population

That is 871 million cases against a confirmed case number of just over 31 million. Confirmed deaths of 471k but if the fatality rate of Covid is 0.7% (which I think was the predicted number when this whole thing began) we are looking at 6 million deaths.

Indian deaths are likely in the millions according to a recent analysis I read.
