I do not know if your limited subscription to Spectrum will work to include the matches on the USA network in the NBC app. However, as near as I can tell from the latest info about this that I have found is that the Peacock app will work for all Olympic programming both live and, after about a day's delay, on demand. Peacock has a free month's trial and then it is only $9.99/month. It seems that there is little or no risk in trying Peacock as you will find out, well before the trial ends, if it works for all that you need.

I do not know if Peacock is available on the Apple TV POS as I intend to use my Rokus or my Fire TV or my Shield TV. But, just for redundancy's sake I am going to try now to install Peacock on my Apple TV. I will report back a little later.

Peacock is on Apple TV and unfortunately I would have to spring for the 9.99 this month since I already used the free trial back in March. Okay, so the NBC app livestreams will only work if you have access to the actual channel that it's broadcasting live from, in this case, USA network, which I don't have access through my provider. However, you're saying if I restart my Peacock premium subscription this month, it shouldn't matter since all those matches will be available live.

I shall figure it out this afternoon since the softball games start later on today.

The answer is that I do not know if having access to NBC but NOT USA would result in having the soccer matches on USA not available in the NBC app but I do know, unless the FAQ I have read from Peacock is lying, that ALL Olympic events will be available live on the Peacock app premium package and also on demand 24 hours or so later. (They are not 100% clear on the on demand part and the matches "could" be available sooner or later.)

That is all I know but nothing in this world is certain until it actually happens.

This is somewhat like the judge caught at a brothel with a flashlight while in bed with a "lady" and when asked why he had a flashlight he said, "The deed must not only be done but it must be seen to be done." (That is a legalism I heard when attending college a LONG time ago.)

We will not really "know" how this will work until it is done and we see it being done. ;)

Oh, as to your last question: Japan and the IOC "can," either separately or together cancel the Olympics and send everyone home at any point and either "can" do that without the other's consent and the fight it out in court later as far as the costs etc. go.
I VERY much doubt that either will come to their senses at this late date so I believe that neither will cancel anything although anything in this crazy time is possible. But they may well tighten, change, add or drop controls and restrictions at any time

    Anyone with Peacock Premium?
I have it and I know there is no live streams at the moment but should the Peacock app list a menu with a button that says live stream at least?

Peacock is flaky as far as finding content goes. I believe that "live" feeds appear in the "channel" you choose and not as a separate tab or button. That is when there is a live stream available for the Olympics the feed will be in the Olympic "channel." At least that is how Peacock has worked in the past.

Right now there are no match or game feeds "live" so there would be nothing showing "live" in the Olympic "channel" in the Peacock app. If Peacock does as they have done the "button" for a live feed will appear as close as 5-10 minutes before the event starts (There was even one time the event appeared in the menu right as the kickoff happened.

Of course it is possible that the Peacock info I have found are lies but I really don't think so.
The possibility that the info unreliable is why I have the Peacock app, The NBC sports app, The regular NBC app and live TV available through Spectrum and various Spectrum feeds used by Emby and Channels DVR all available to me on several different platforms.

LOL, I wish the game started at 1:30 AM Eastern.

Then I could stay up to watch, which isn't really late for me, and then sleep straight through to morning.

Now it's, set the alarm for 4:20 AM, crawl downstairs in front of the TV, watch, and then go back to sleep until the real a.m.

    Ugh!

But what about Godzilla and Mothra and Gamera and Ebirah and Ghidorah and Destoroyah and Hedorah and Mechagodzilla and Trump all attacking together?

But I agree that they will not be canceled. The question was "is it possible" not "will it."

I vaguely remember the Godzilla films when I was a little girl when they aired on channel 5 in the 1990s. The one that really made me laugh was when Godzilla was fighting a robotic version of himself/herself(not sure what its sex is as they never made Godzilla falls in love with XYZ sequel) In revisiting my fandom for Power Rangers, I've come to the realization that Japan seems to enjoy producing giant sized monsters invading big metropolis themes. I wonder why that is but there is probably some long explanation somewhere in academia.

It seems to all go back to WWII where we (The US) in the Pacific theater were really the "Big Monster" and Japan was attacked by us. Of course history sees it differently but "history is always written and revised by the winners of wars and conflicts." Also the "Atomic bomb's effects play heavily in the Godzilla creation myths.

I do find it a little strange how Godzilla kinda of morphed from "bad guy" to "dark hero" as the films moved forward in time.

When Godzilla fights "bad" monsters Tokyo becomes like the furniture in a room with Mel Gibson and any of a number of "bad" guys. The "furniture" does not usually much survive.

BTW: If you want to watch an actually really good "Godzilla" movie watch the original "Gojira" from 1954. It is MUCH better than the bastardized version that was released in the US a couple of years later with English dubbed in and Ramon Burr pasted into a staring roll exhibiting zero acting skill. Also stay away from the modern remakes (of US origin) as the acting there makes Burr look like a great actor.

Try watching something unrelated on NBC live stream now and see if it works.
    Don't wait till last minute.

While I agree, mostly, that does not address the "I don't have USA but I do have NBC" question. There are no "USA" live feeds to test with at this time as there is really not normally much "live" on USA. Testing feeds that are not live or are on other portions of the NBC mega monster does not really tell much.

However there is Great Britain vs. Chile on the Olympic channel @3:30 AM and that might work and prove to be a good "proof of concept" test if one also does not have the Olympic Channel in their lineup.

Personally my highest confidence in getting all matches is with Peacock. At $9.99/month it is cheap and, should it fail, it is less than the price of a quart of most even bad wines. It is a small risk and should it fail services like "Sling" can be subbed to very very quickly.

So my advice is subscribe to Peacock and risk $9.99 (It is free for new subs or, cough cough, subs with a new email that has not been used with them before.)
Should that fail then fall back on the pre-prepared position of subbing to something like Sling.
BTW: Sling also has a free trial of one week.

But, once again, I have fairly high confidence that Peacock will work fine unless they, once again, underestimate demand and the infrastructure gets overwhelmed as it has before and, I think, that would effect all feeds.

lilllll, oh liiiiiiiillllll. Does anyone else find this statement suspiciously vague and mysterious?
    • Are you actually on an Island Nation of Asia?
    • Are you at the Tokyo Ginza Marriott Hotel??
    • Are you currently in possession of a Global FIFA Pass for the Match???
    hhmmm………HHHMMMMmmmm………..
if so, that vibe you feel coming from North America is jealousy.

Tokyo 2020, Tokyo 202ONE, no matter, it just doesn’t MATTER - - - just delaying the inevitable. Because in three weeks, 22 of these will be adorning the 2-Time Reigning World Cup Champions.

Yeah I'm currently testing the olympic apps/channels with the softball games currently airing right now. It seems from my research, that only certain sporting events like gymnastics are going to be streaming live on Peacock but not all of the sporting events will be streamed live even with the premium Peacock. I believe one can access those games "on demand" or on "replay" when they are put up there but my goal was to watch all the soccer matches live, not on delay.

So ultimately I'm going to have to set aside some money for USA network since it seems all of the soccer matches will be airing live on there and NBCSN. I believe Sling shouldn't be too expensive to invest a month's subscription in.

I supposed I can wait for the 4 hour delay for the US matches but there's no way I would want to watch any of those matches on delay, I'd be biting my lips the whole time wondering what is happening and driving myself crazy not to go online.

EDIT: Paid only 10 dollars for USA Network so I'm good! It's all worth it when it comes to USWNT.

As a reminder, NBC will not be producing the matches. It will be an international feed with NBC commentary.

Yes, replay vs Sweden will be on NBCSN at 5:30 am PT and again at 3:00 pm PT tomorrow.
I think almost all the replays will be on NBCSN.
