i heard class action chatter around GMU but Howard's not going to pursue. Maybe it'll change but my guess is Howard's an "ok" job when combined with the guaranteed DC youth cash cow. They're all acquaintances and buds so he's likely wiser to avoid the awkwardness and wait out Leone and Manya. He and the assistant both want to stay commuter distance from youth gigs. Outside Navy, which will never open and has it's own headaches, there's nothing else worth leaving Howard for (upper end destination, if DC can be called that. yuck, in crappy conference).

A turf field is a negative for many players.

Exactly how is this different than a hire in a male program?

Arizona have too. Anyone have insight if the two assistants are good hires?

Brian is a good guy and solid GK trainer, Quinn was a baller at Duke and has been around. Think they are solid hires, but going to be tough in the PAC 12 regardless

Not impressed with any of the Arizona Staff. Guess time will tell, but c'mon, you can do better!

Interesting. Former OSU coach and former Arizona coach on staff. A LOT of experience there. Not the usual assistant coach hires the likes of which you often see.

Here is a piece from the posting:

"We are looking for potential Head Coach candidates for future Athletic Department vacancies, who have expertise in any of the following areas:

Football Men's Basketball Women's Basketball Baseball Softball Men's Indoor/Outdoor Track & Field Men's Cross Country Women's Indoor/Outdoor Track & Field Women's Cross Country Indoor Volleyball Sand Volleyball Golf Swimming & Diving Men's Soccer Women's Soccer Tennis

If your application is in the pool you may be contacted if your qualifications and experience meet the requirements of vacancies in the Athletic Department. Your application will remain in the pool for 3 months."

Can you imaging being a coach there?

I just saw the listing pop up in my email. Didn’t read the actual ad.

That’s crazy. Talk about a tough place to work and have any success.

So basically the whole athletic department is on notice, and on not so secret probation. Nice culture they are building there!!

FIU put out these athletic posts on Higher Ed and the NCAA Market every few months. This is nothing new and has been going on for years. As for the women's soccer program, they should be in the TOP-3 of that conference every year. Make the right hire and they shouldn't have any issues.

The fact it's been going on for years, makes it even worse. I couldn't imagine working for a company that was actively and proactively recruiting for my potential replacement just in case.

So many coaches that have been let go over the past 4 or so years may have done better with the same system and feeling a little fire. Lots of comfort in women's college soccer. People on this forum always saying certain schools can't win, or it is too tough at certain places to recruit, only to see new blood have success after the old is let go. I am not defending FIU, I don't really care, all I was saying is they have been doing it for years.

Rob Donnewirth, former HC ECU and most recently the assistant at Arkansas returns to East Coast as assistant at JMU. Great for Rob AND JMU!

Troy is deep in the interview process...did several formal phone interviews last week. Prior to that, they reached out to a lot of people when creating a pool and got a lot of “no’s."
