Hmm… Sporting KC does not have a transfer agreement in place for Gianluca Busio, nor the final stages of a deal or anything of that sort. That's straight from Peter Vermes. SKC continues to have dialogue with multiple clubs, Venezia among them.— Sam McDowell (@SamMcDowell11) July 16, 2021
Good. I don’t like the look of Venezia anyway. How many teens are they going to play? It’s better to go to team with a plan and a pathway.
Appearances are probably the most common, but lots of others like goals, assists, teams of the week/year, MOTMs, number of caps, etc.
Done deal and total agreement reached, confirmed. Gianluca Busio leaves Sporting Kansas City to join Serie A side Venezia on permanent deal. 🇺🇸 #MLS #VeneziaPersonal terms also agreed. Sporting KC will receive €4m guaranteed + add ons. Busio will be in Italy soon.— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) July 17, 2021
As of this morning: Tweet below is still the case. Talks are ongoing, even progressing, but there's no deal in place. The terms between Busio and Venezia haven't been agreed to, either, I'm told. (TLDR: Venezia is most likely destination; but it's just not there yet. Not a lock.) https://t.co/hZ6CnjmTxC— Sam McDowell (@SamMcDowell11) July 17, 2021
Chris Richards starting alongside Dayot Upamecano in pre-season match against Köln. Taylor Booth also starting.

This is why until I see the player holding up the jersey... it’s probably good to believe it hasn’t happened yet.
If the Busio to Venezia deal goes through, it would be a little off the beaten path as far as MLS transfers go (along with Tessmann as well obviously). Traditionally the most highly rated youth players in MLS who have transferred abroad while they were still around that age have gone to top tier teams in top leagues (with developmental loans sometimes following) or top feeder teams in 2nd tier leagues. The players who have gone to relegation battlers have typically been a bit older -- 23 at least, and often much older. The thinking there might be that a relegation struggle at the highest levels isn't an ideal environment for a teenager who's still early in their development, so I'd be curious and a little concerned about how Busio handles that.
Real Betis would be an awesome move for Shaq. Hell, if hes holding down a starting spot for a Europa La Liga team, hes firmly latched into the 2 spot on the depth chart IMO at a very competitive right back slot. Sevilla is also a pretty nice city in a nice area in its own right. Lots of day trip spots
