To Kagler's point, some unfortunate Musah strolling indirectly leads to a Villareal goal. It is similar to something we saw in the last Musah U.S. appearance. Villareal have the ball deep on Valencia's left, where Musah for some reason was positioned. Valencia fullback is overloaded, two on one, but for some reason Musah is just strolling along watching around five yards away. Leads to a shot off the post, then a goal. He's a consistent threat on offense though!
They moved him back out wide the last 10 mins. Dont know if it was tactical or if he just wasnt getting on the ball enough in that secondary striker role. Announcer was talking about Valencia being light on CMs last year and this year. Yet Musah still not considered to be in that group as of yet. Though it is good to see him wearing the #6 shirt this season. Valencia fans on twitter want to see him at CM and are happy hes atleast playing centrally in this game.

He moved back to CM in the 65th minute. Villarreal dominating possession though. Good sign that hes played the entire match.
Musah earns an odd penalty. Volleys a corner off his knee into the box and Villarreal player used his hand. Valencia tie it up 2-2. Musah has been more involved since moving to his preferred position.
Seems he started first half as well Here's the official team sheet for the match against @valenciacf_en, with just over 15 minutes until kick-off. pic.twitter.com/aJ7bWkTUyZ— Villarreal CF English (@VillarrealCFen) July 16, 2021

Good news: he played his preferred box to box role today. He showed what he shows with the US. Glides by players easily to break into the final third, or gets fouled. Passing was good, and he had a few good defensive interventions. Bad News: still can be a little bit of a ball watcher off the ball. Had two good chances at the top of the box and skied one and other was straight at the keeper. Worse news: On one of his patented turns in the midfield he was badly fouled by a beaten opposing player and drew the yellow. But was forced to come out of the game at 40th minute. Just as he was really starting to dominate. Hopefully hes okay.
Well that's not great news. But, given that it's a preseason game I would hope that it's not a serious injury and he was withdrawn out of precaution. Do you have any video of the injury incident you can share with us?
Given that you're the only person on this site stating to have watched it, do you have any input as to what manner of injury, how it happened, etc?
Announcers said it looked like his ankle. He turned an opposing player who stuck out his leg and looked to have stepped on his ankle/foot as Musah was planting it. Valencia wasted no time subbing him out. But he walked off under his own power, though limping badly. I'm leaning towards precautionary, but wouldn't bet money on it. Edit: SBI put out a little blurb about it https://sbisoccer.com/2021/07/americans-abroad-ticker-yunus-musah-haji-wright-and-more
I believe this says Musah has a torn meniscus and a torn anterior ligament. Its twitter so hopefully it's not true. 1418210998582870024 is not a valid tweet id Could of sworn it was a foot injury
This tweet says it’s not that serious.
https://as.com/futbol/2021/07/22/pr...xterno_rsoc=comp_tw&__twitter_impression=true Conflicting reports?this article states “The MRI has ruled out a serious injury to breathe the entire entity, although more exact results and a definitive diagnosisare yet to be known”
sounds like a sprain with some swelling then... 2-4 week expectation until we hear something more? woof
