No hate but he struggles. Against Belgium he was constantly exposed and he was at fault for England’s goal.

    They didn’t.

Italy’s midfield did. It’s like saying under Sarri Hysaj was shutting down opponent’s wingers. When you play a possession based game and have a midfield that bosses the other side around and players are tactically trained well, you make it difficult for the opponent to create much.

We will only bet average players and Koulibaly snd Fabian will stay. We will have an aged squad with the same players with mental deficiencies.

I wanted De Paul. Would have made a big difference.

    Malcuit is a disaster.

Ill be a tough season. Juve, Atalanta and Lazio will make CL.

We will have to fight Inter, Milan and Roma for 4.

Maybe we could say Italy looked weak on the wings and England felt they could dominate the wide areas. Early on that was the case, but as the game progressed it was not.

In all likelihood there was little di Lorenzo could have done differently himself to prevent a goal. Even if he covered Shaw, then Barella would have been left marking Kane. Trippier had time to pick out his man. If he played it to Kane instead, chances are England still score.

I think once the line-ups were announced Mancini could have made some tactical concessions and later let his team grow with the game as both teams felt each other out. He was unwilling to have Chiesa and Insigne track back for that early phases and gambled that they would worry England's wing-backs more, forcing England to defend more. As the game progressed this was true, but not at the start. His team were too offensive oriented when it was evident Kane would break free of Chiellini and England would overcommit numbers forward during a high intensity start. Obviously this was going to be a hard atmosphere and occasion for his players, so his players froze a little, and England were going to start as strong as possible, with enormous confidence. Mancini could have seen the danger in that, but he stuck with his guns from the start and tried to ride out his luck as England piled on the intensity. Once England lost that intensity, the game fell into a normal rhythm and Italy's midfield took control of the park.

It will be very hard for Napoli to challenge the top four this season. There needs to be a better to focus on the Europa League this time around.

Yes, the midfield duo of Jorginho and Verratti were dominant, and a big reason England were toothless. I'm just trying to pick out some positives from the FB play. No, they weren't the best out there at all, but they both did settle into the match and contributed with some defensive plays.

If we are to be frank, it can be pointed out that Insigne, (had more than 1 subpar game) Barella, (Cristante was much better in the final) and Immobile, (virtually usless most of the tourney), were all subpar in the final, and other games as well.

There are little to no transfer rumours this year. The least I’ve ever seen. This coupled with us showing up to training with with last years kits because our genius president decided to self produce at the last second has made my enthusiasm less than 0

Hey guys!!! i used to be active here like 10 years ago.... Boy time has passed.
Sorry for not having been around, i started working a lot and frankly i lost the passion a little. After Sarri left i felt like things were going to change for the worse. Frankly i think i was right. the summer transfer market is something i havent followed in recent years....always having false hope that De La will bring some world class player.

Anyhow the azzurri have rekindled my love for the game and at least one of the teams i love and support were able to win something important.
I can tell you that italians here in montreal, canada went absolutely nuts. I got so drunk i ended up in a hospital and needed to get my stomach pumped.
ill try to upload some pics

Agree. Juve, Atalanta and Inter have superior players and Lazio has Sarri.

Roma will flop and Milan is an unknown.

We are on a decline. The only thing that made sense was to at least bring Sarri.

But that idiot did not even opt for that.

Was reported yesterday that "transfers are blocked" and we need to sell to buy. Meaning in order for Napoli to sign Emerson Palmieri, someone has got to go because the club wants to protect it's "balanced books"

Malcuit and Luperto look like they are going to be apart of the first team. Malcuit is an OK substitute for Di Lorenzo. Luperto on the other hand is a great defender for Serie B.

    I dislike Malcuit and Ounas.

We also need a proper midfielder. Our midfield is very week. I don't rate Fabian.

Fabian is a good player, but can do better. He lacks inspiration and I felt that had more to do with Gattuso.

I like the look of the current group. Spalletti can maybe get Zielinski to play more like midfielder, less like a forward if he goes 4-3-3. Honestly, I think that would be better than the usual 4-2-3-1. Lozano too I think would do well in the midfield since Politano is better up front, whereas Lozano's energy and pressing can work in the middle well. The biggest key is supporting Osimhen and getting the most out of him. He could be a major revelation next season and create big problems for teams with his size and pace. Too much is left on the shoulders of Insigne and Mertens, this responsibility has to change more hands and the team has to work smarter as a group to win. Spalletti is capable of that. He gets the midfield right, I think Napoli can achieve something, but finishing in the top four will be harder this season than it was this past season. Spalletti would do well to remind Insigne and Mertens of Maradona's UEFA cup win and inspire his players to emulate that success. I think it's a realistic ambition for the club.

I watched Zielinski with Poland, and much the same issues were evident when he plays in a 4-3-3. I'm not sure he can be a complete midfielder. There is no box-to-box on the squad, and they miss someone like Allan when he was at his best. Fabian is no Jorginho, but he is good enough. Team needs a LB as well, as Rui is way too inconsistent. Insigne plays better with support.

If Spalletti is going to insist on a 2 man mid, then yeah we need someone who is solid defensively but also carry the ball up field. And the only name being mentioned for this position is Koopmeiners

Other than that, there is scarce talk of mercato in right now. I was reviewing some of the calcionapoli news sites videos today and a lot of their discussions are about the squad players and who is actually going to stick around.

Clubs approach Napoli for Lorenzo Insigne
Clubs have approached Napoli to sign Lorenzo Insigne, amidst increasing doubts about whether he will sign a new deal or not.

Daniele Longo has reported about the situation of the Italian, claiming that clubs have approached for the winger and he might have the temptation to try a new challenge. But Napoli are still his priority and if Aurelio de Laurentiis is serious about keeping the player, there is a chance that Insigne signs a new deal.

Insigne wants €5 million a season on his new deal but Napoli’s finances have been hit by the lack of Champions League football and they want to offer a halved wage.

Talks over the new deal haven’t begun yet and Napoli would have to wait for some days more to understand what Insigne’s real intentions are.

Insigne at any other club would become a bench player.

His best security is at Napoli. He can play there until he's 40. Sure he's getting half the money now, but he'll make more over time. He won't last anywhere else past 35. He needs to see that.

Unless he wants to play abroad in the EPL or La Liga and has a real desire to do it beyond the money, then I don't see the point of his leaving. Milan maybe for the UCL, but will they qualify again next season? Will he be in their plans in two years time? I doubt it.

He would have to fight for his spot, which would make him even better. Add that he won't play for the club he loves, so the pressure he puts on himself to perform will be gone. I can see insigne being one of any league's best player if he chooses the right team.

So no one is leaving? Why would k2 pick everton? I think spalleti would want ruiz to stay because we lack midfielders who don't just pretend to be midfielders

Besides the Ciciretti's and Contini's, no one is coming and no one is leaving. Ruiz isn't moving because no one is going to fork over the millions that ADL wants. Same thing for k2. Napoli already received two offers for him, none of which meet the asking price. Also Insigne knows his worth and is likely going to let his contract expire.

Napoli have been asking clubs for player loans and no one is interested anymore in giving up a player for a year only to be returned the following season. Clubs want money and ADL is determined not to make the club fall in the red

Beautiful friendly win over Bayern on Saturday. Osimhen looks ready for a breakout season, but he needs to work on his heading. I read that Napoli actually paid only 40 million euros for him.
