The team is back in training already, with Ruben Amorim preparing for another tough season and the defense of the title (god that sounds good to say) as well as Champions League football returning to Alvalade. We've already had a first game against the B team, winning that 8-3 (hat trick from Paulinho). The pre-season schedule so far includes the following matches: July 14 - Sporting vs. Gent July 17 - CF Estrela Amadora vs Sporting July 20 - Sporting vs Angers July 25 - Sporting vs Lyon (Trofeu Cinco Violinos) July 31 - Sporting vs Braga (Supercup 2021) Hopefully the covid cases go down and we can have fans at Alvalade vs. Lyon. We'll be able to see the new pitch as well as how the new chairs will look (although all the chairs won't be replaced until early 2022).

The lighting, seabirds in the background and the training ground make it look like a summer holiday. God I wish I could see the ocean sometime soon, preferably eating a huge cataplana full of seafood!

HT 1-0. Pre-season rhythm, but good to see the boys again playing. Really impressed with Esteves, the kid is a gem. Joelson also dangerous on 1v1 dribbling.
That PSA from Amorim last season about the youngsters who want a chance to come to SCP gonna give us tens of millions lol. Not liking Quaresma, almost lost the ball there unnecessarily. 3x this game could have cost us. Braganca also needs to step it up IMO.
Still think Quaresma needs a loan. Makes mistakes that you shouldn't make. He has quality, just needs to be consistent. Also - starting to wonder why we needed Esgaio for 5.5M, this Esteves kid is a perfect back up for Porro.

Also didn't mention Braganca's goal for 2-1, a sublime chip and cool finish. I know it's super early but Gonçalo Esteves was super impressive too. For 17, he made some mistakes but his work ethic and stamina was better than many other players I've seen.
