Just hoping now that the English press won't be their usual selves, be a@@holes and try to scapegoat Rash, Sancho and Saka for this...
Bad coaching. Putting on two cold players that have barely seen minutes right before penalties in the finals is just textbook terrible coaching. It's something a coach that has never played the game does. Also, not seeing that Saka was having an off today and then not only leaving him on the field but giving him a sudden death penalty it just insane.
Can post about this guy now and it's funny "It's not going to jinx it... I'm confident": Dad gets 'England Euro 2020 winners' tattooed on his leg BEFORE the final - Manchester Evening News Might have a support group with this guy?
That was the main point but just hoping they just resist their usual impulses in that case. It serves nothing to try and turn people against them. Forget their skin color, they're all kids....
My mind is just blown. What ********ing manager thinks putting the last 3 penalty takers as an inexperienced kid having a bad game and 2 guys that haven't played all tournament was a smart move. He should get fired for this. It's worse than Ole in the EL final.
southgate, like deschamps, is a terrible coach whose team is winning despite his incompetence on sheer talent. i'm going to say something really controversial on this board: maguire is a world class cb, full stop. he's had to carry mediocre partners since he joined united. a maguire-varane partnership at the back would be immense.
i'm glad that the annoucers are questioning his tactics. southgate is a coward. sancho, grealish and sterling behind kane should have been the move from the start. mount and saka are hard working kids but they had no business starting this game.
It's not controversial at all: it's been clear for some time that next to the right partner, Mag can not only be very serviceable, he can be very good. That's why Varane is a priority: someone like Torres, probably wouldn't work and we should steer clear of him.
