Sent off for giving a Red Bull’s player a hug during the run of play

He must have been under enormous stress with his father's passing.

If Jack De Vries can get healthy soon, Venezia are trying to bring him in on loan - or so I've been hearing

Seems a low risk move for a club like Venezia.

Can confirm this. Jack’s been in concussion protocol for most of the season or he likely would’ve been on loan already

I've heard very good things about this boy. I think he's a '07

He’s an ‘07, and I’ve had numerous people reference him to me recently as a player joining Union to watch for next season. I’ve never seen him play, but he is coming in with some hype.

A San Diego MLS Academy would almost become a top 5 MLS academy by default, and if they put in the resources, would eventually challenge for the best in MLS or even Western Hemisphere for that matter.

And I’m definitely expecting SD to replace Sacramento’s expansion spot.

Nowhere to play. Otherwise there would have been a team long ago. When the border is open TJ is San Diego home team.

San Diego State is building a brand new 35K seat stadium on the same plot of land as Qualcomm Stadium.

The amount of San Diegans going to TJ games has always been insanely exaggerated. Many who cross are there for America, Chivas, Cruz Azul, etc.

San Diego State refused to build a joint stadium with MLS team, then all of a sudden they put a competing proposal on a ballot, and won. I don't expect them to come back to MLS, there would have been some rumors if they were really interested.

They've actually started talking with the Loyal already about playing there.

SDSU and the original San Diego bid for MLS has some real conflict about stadium size, ownership and about the usage of the remainder of the Qualcomm site.

I don't think they'd have any concerns about an MLS team renting. It's the question of whether MLS would be okay with a rental situation.

If I'm the next San Diego MLS bid, I actually work out a long term lease with SDSU where I can share players, coaches, etc with SDSU -- the academy players and young players for my team can take classes there. SDSU can have the inside track on players who don't make the MLS team. You could even have the college team joint train, etc. or even play games before.

The Athletic has already reported MLS is negotiating with SDSU once the Sacramento deal fell through.

The original MLS San Diego bid was more about the property around the stadium than the actual stadium itself and the stadium capacity would’ve got SDSU kicked out of FBS.

SDSU is paying around $1 billion for this entire project, they’ll have no issues if other tenants want to join.

I hope the Surf can come back to MLS Next or San Diego Loyal can join. But I don’t see Southern California getting a third MLS team before places like Phoenix, Vegas, and Detroit get one

San Diego is a completely different market than L.A. Their TV ratings for MLS and USMNT/USWNT are always strong also.

At this point he really should, Bedoya looks like he turned 40 overnight and I wanted to see Sullivan get the start. Theres little reason not to start give Sullivan real starting minutes.

I'm not surprised that Sullivan is playing this well. IMO, he's the most talented player in the '04 age group, but he was a little uneven in USL last season. There were some mitigating circumstances there and the team was terrible, but I can't say I was expecting this after how he did in USL. Clearly though he's taken quickly to MLS, and he's shown that a weaker USL season doesn't mean a player can't step into MLS the next season and have a big impact.

A bit off topic, but my wet dream for MLS is expansion to 36 or 40, and then dividing it into MLS 1 and MLS 2 with pro/rel. Would still protect investments made and differentiate MLS from every other American sport.
