    Say, can you see
    By the gun’s early light
    What so proudly we carried
    At the shotgun’s last gleaming?
Whose bump stocks and bright darts
    Through the perilous fight
    O'er the viewfinder we watched,
    Were so gallantly, yeah, streaming?
    And the rockets' red glare
    The bombs bursting in air
    Gave proof through the night
That our glock was still there
O say, does that modified assault rifle yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave

Is there any sane poster here [no pun intended] that foresaw this debacle, say, 5 years ago? :(

51 people shot in New York State over the July 4th weekend.

“We know where they’re coming from — they’re coming from the south — and we’re
going to declare a border war to stop them."

Cuomo on guns aping Trump on Mexico.

In NYC there were 173 shootings in May 2021 compared to 100 in May 2020, though lack of familiarity shows as homicides stayed the same at 37.

Although this could go in the mass shooting thread because it is about Sandy Hook, gonna put here:

    https://www.ctpost.com/local/article/A-gun-maker-was-ordered-to-hand-over-documents-to-16296757.php

NEWTOWN — In the volume of pretrial data turned over by bankrupted Remington to nine Sandy Hook families suing for wrongful marketing, lawyers said they found 18,000 random cartoons and 15,000 irrelevant pictures of people go-karting and dirt-biking.

What a bunch of ********ing assholes. Even more than they already are.

Maybe...it might have as much/only to do with the form of the requests for production. It seems like there would be better ways to be assholes than that. It might give some insight into other reasons they're bankrupt though. My hunch is that the requests included messages and images from a business owned computer and some asshole was on reddit or bigsoccer or somesuch, and some dipshit never clears his cache. But[t], I'm just talking out of my ass just the same.

I can't tell which of many he was referencing.

I could see a bunch approaching, and could see some specific things that have happened as likely, but not all...

    Murica!!

Over the July Fourth weekend alone, officers caught 70 guns at airport checkpoints, and 60 were loaded, Rodriguez said. Guns weren't the only dangerous items screeners caught: A traveler at the Norfolk airport brought 13 firecrackers, a passenger at O'Hare arrived with brass knuckles and Boise, Idaho, screeners found both a loaded firearm and a hatchet in a man's carry-on, TSA said.

Federal regulations allow passengers to pack firearms in checked luggage -- which must be deposited at airline check-in counters rather than taken through passenger checkpoints. The rules require passengers to declare firearms to airline agents, and pack weapons unloaded in hard-sided and locked containers.

The agency says it fines passengers up to $2,475 for bringing unloaded guns through checkpoints and up to $10,000 for a first offense of bringing a loaded gun. Officers also refer passengers for criminal prosecution, and penalties can be higher for repeat offenses.

One hours since this post and nobody added the "going through O'Hare, brass knuckles are the minimum required protection" joke.

    Disappointed in all of you.

Primarily, because unless the drive is 10 hours or less, I drive vs. fly

Plus, I can travel unmolested with my firearms, tomahawk, knives and two bags of Brach's caramel squares
