OLEEEE OLEEEE OLEEE OLEEEEEEE..... SPINNAAAAAA SPINNNAAAAAA.

One more to go. England at Wembley... like we care about that. We overcame Germany at their impenetrable stadium of Dortmund in 2006 where they had never lost before. What we have here is not just a team.. its a family. When one member of the family is down and out... the rest will pick up the pieces for them. This one is for Spina.. much like 2006 was for Pessotto.

As for the lineup.. i don't expect Mancini to make any changes from last game. England do not have the technical ability in the midfield to hold possession and make us suffer as Spain did for much of the last game. I expect us to have a greater share of the possession and dictate the game and they will sit back in a shell with 7/8 back and try to hit us on the counter with speed. We will pressure high up the pitch and Pickford and Co will turn the ball over lots and we must capitalize on these opportunities. Kane will get the Lukaku treatment from Chiellini.. and we're going to need Di Lorenzo to keep Sterling in check and be smart knowing that he'll be in his scuba gear ready to dive anywhere near the box.

Unbeaten in 33 games. We were told we had no chance to win this. Once we started winning.. we were told we haven't played anybody good yet. Once we started beating "good teams" we were told we were time wasters and cheaters. It's all music to my ears. Its jealousy. and i CANNOT WAIT to hear what they come up with when they find out.... ITS COMING ROME.

What a tournament its been for Italy. Hoping for the best. I just really hope there’s no controversy/stupid calls/red cards to taint the game. Whoever wins, I hope they win fair and square and convincingly. Forza Italia!

Can you imagine we get a PK in our favor in the 89th minute from a Immobile dive and win 1-0. What will they say?

    :ROFLMAO: at the above...

Earlier today, thinking of this Match, I had a Rocky IV vibe about it. Going into their territory, refs against us, fans against us, everyone seemingly turning us into an underdog overnight.

But sitting here now, I feel like this should be a simple one for Mancini to figure out. They've been playing fantastic, but just as everyone criticized us for a lack of quality opponent early on, Ukraine and Denmark weren't really anything to write home about. And Germany looked lost all tournament. So how much of it is them being that good...or their opponents being that Meh? I don't know.

Rumors are already starting that Mancini won't make any changes from Spain. Interesting but not surprising if true. As much as I've given Ciro shit the last two games, it would be something to see him put one or two away against a side whose media have ridiculed him the last week.

It's no secret we need to press high and press often. Chiesa and Insigne have to be busy all 90 and keep the English back there and honest.

We need to call it like it is and admit that Mancini was outcoached last game. Though I didn't feel that Spain's possession was dangerous, it was disheartening to see them dictate the pace and direction of the match rather than us. Hoping we learned from that and Roberto has an ace or two up his sleeve.

We might need it with the referee, VAR, and English in attendance...

I would like nothing more than to see this team start on the front foot and pressure them. I honestly believe you have to go at them to beat them. Let Pickford handle some pressure early, for he is the weak link back there. Don't let Sterling and Saka run at you, push them back to defend. If you let them dictate the tempo, you will be chasing those two all game, which leads to trouble.

Living here in Canada This Italy v England match up is very reminicent of the most recent Toronto Maple Leafs , vs Montreal Canadiens playoff series this past season, as Crazy as this sounds . Montreal came in to that series not playing the best and having some negative past seasons , while The Leafs and there fans and media were bashing Montreal left right and center in a way kind of reminds me of the English media, guesss what Montreal came out on top . Hopefully Italy can silence those critics over in Britian

Mancini was indeed outcoached in the Semis. Tactically giving up that much possession is very risky and does not maximize your chances of winning a game. England doesn't have the possession game that Spain has, but they will be very physical in the middle....and this ref may allow it. We've got to be ready for that.

As much as everyone loves Jorginho, he is slow footed. There were a couple times Spain ran right at our defense and he could not keep up (including on Morata's goal). We can't allow those types of runs. Barella has the speed to keep up and Verratti less so...but we need to be careful of those situations on transition.

We also can't afford to chase this game. Barella is one of the most physically fit midfielders I've ever seen. And, he was gassed in the 60th minute of the Spain game. Why? He was outnumbered and chasing the whole game. So, a compact midfield is important here with quick smart touches keeping the ball moving.

Immobile? Well, we know how poor he's been. But, in the end, he is a goal scorer and sometimes he buries his chances. I like Belotti but against England's central D, he won't have his normal strength advantage. So, begrudgingly, I think Immobile will have to start so he can play the offside trap and try to get them with speed.

Italy vs England...this match up only comes around once every few years...case in point EURO 2012 Italy beat England on penalties and then 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil it ended in a 2-1 win for Italy.

I wonder if you guys faced each other at all in Nations League?

If not, then this EURO 2020 Final is even more special in this regard

Both teams are deep in depth and overall talent...evenly matched at almost every position

But England are playing at home in Wembley in England...so that has definitely got to give them an advantage

Whether Italy win or lose, to be able to make it as far as you guys have, just goes to show everyone that Italy is back amongst the world's elite. I think it took missing Russia 2018 and not qualifying to make you guys great again. Mainly in part due to Roberto Mancini a culture changer who has completely changed the culture of the Azzurri. In the sense of playing attacking, free flowing football but also playing defensive minded in terms of overall tactics which has basically made Italy hard to score against.

If this was a European club match with England hosting the final then you pick the Premier Club to win 10 times out of 10.

But an international game? It's going to be a long night for England.

Remember Germany was defeated in Dortmund at the 2006 World Cup - something that was inconceivable because it had never happened before.

The key will be midfield and here there is no even match. Italy are miles ahead tactically and technically. The flow of the game should be pretty straightforward and a similar game to Belgium. So Italian dominance, English counter. Italy just have to take the chances that will be presented throughout a game while continuing to limit mistakes allowing English counters. Italy's to lose. The responsibility will be on Ciro at the top end of the pitch. If he shows up and I think this game suits him better than Belgium or Spain. There will be enough to side it towards Italy.

Southgate wont be doing anything drastic..well it would be a shock if he does at this point. He will surely keep it the same with the duo of Rice and Phillips. He doesnt seem to trust the best footballer in Grealish apart from coming of the bench to make an impact. Theres not a trio who can match Italys right now. Spain had to play false 9 to. England wont be that versatile. I'm almost 100% confident this is how the flow of the game goes. Of course that doesn't mean that England cant win it from this situation but it's unlikely. Italy have too much about them and the experience is there within the group in the right areas.

Southgate is more open to changing formations than Mancini is. I wish Mancini would be just a bit more flexible at times, but credit to him for finally having launched Chiesa.

One aspect of this game we haven't talked about is England's aerial prowess. Pickford is often scared to play the ball so he boots it upfield. We have a very small trio of midfielders so aerial battles will be tough at times. We have to be really ready on corners and spot kicks because their big guys are coming. This is an area frankly we did poorly against Wales for example.

England's biggest threat so far has been Sterling. I think Bonucci and Chiellini will take care of Kane...question is...who will be on Sterling. If Sterling attacks from the left...I'm confident Di Lorenzo can match him with his speed and some help. If, however, Sterling attacks from the right side, I do think Emerson will have his hands full. We'll have to be very careful of that. If Spinazzola was out there, I'd be feeling very comfortable, but that's not the case.

We have to approach this game like it is our toughest test so far. No excuses. Play smart. Play hard. Do whatever it takes to win.

If Italy think Kane will play as a traditional 9 then their in for a shock. Kane will drop deep in and out of position to help the midfield , and also will have runners in behind with the likes of sterling, Sancho, or sahka.

    This is true.

He plays as an extra midfielder at times, and even finds space in the channels when he can. He is anything but a stationary striker. His movement will have to be tracked.

Southgate doesn’t have to change to much from the Denmark game to play us. He just needs to take a look at the Austria match and copy and paste one or two things. In that game, they disrupted our rhythm with physical play and fouls. Rice and Phillips are more than capable of doing this.

And we know how the English play and what they want to do. I just hope Mancini is not too predictable
