Thanks for that. It was, as they say, a composed finish. If he's gonna be called up it's good if he gets to really contribute. Happy for him.

May everyone on this board be as happy as Saka is on an inflatable unicorn.

Assuming he missed the Ukraine match because he was saving the world.

I think he should start in tomorrow's semifinal against Denmark, based on this meme alone!

He's got a knock, so I hope he sits tomorrow and for the third place game.

He's been back in training for a day or two now, so I heard. Some very decent England pundits like Chris Waddle are calling for him to start.

Thrown under the bus today and now being blamed online for the penalty loss all because Southgate has no idea what he is doing.

2 cold players on for penalties both shit the bed, and it falls to a 19 year old not known for taking penalties to save it for England.

If this ruins Saka mentally, its completely on Southgate. Lil Chilli was absolutely distraught post match.

He’d never taken a top level penalty before. Regardless of how he looked in practice, having a 19 year old take his first penalty in the shootout of a final, to keep the game alive no less, is managerial malpractice.

Add in that he brought in Rashford and Sancho on a set piece, and he had to play RB.

Southgate is a worse manager than Arteta has been. People keep pointing to how England went in the WC and how they went in the Euros, but they have some once in a generation attacking talent, elite players in every line, and any other manager would have achieved as much as he did.

Don’t understand why he couldn’t start against brentford? Was his minutes in euros harder minutes than Martinelli more recently in Olympics ?

    Arteta is such a wanker

I’m not sure Martinelli was used as much or as intensely as Saka was. Also, neither player went 90 minutes yesterday

Scored the 4th in today’s England qualifier, then got this to help celebrate.

Before today’s big game at old Trafford, NBC just showed a beautiful little interview of Bukayo.

He is so focused, so genuine, so likeable. And about to turn 21… tomorrow.

There's not one single piece of information in that close to 10 minute interview. Just one giant love fest between two footballers who love Arsenal.

    Not complaining, just sayin'

    Two things...

    1) Saka has played 82 consecutive games, equaling Paul Merson's record. If he plays on Saturday he breaks the record. Hope it doesn't break him though!

    2) Sadly last season's Starboy song didn't fully catch on, so as of last game at Palace there seems to be another one up for submission. Supposedly set to Abba's Voulez Vous and with a similar line: "running down the wing". I couldn't find it online but maybe one of you can?

The Gooner’s version of the chant goes something like this: ‘Bukayoooooo SAKA, running down the wing, SAKA, hear The Arsenal sing, SAKA, from Hale End Academy.'

Hmm. Hard to tell if that's good enough to catch on. Would like to hear an actual audio clip of it.

If you wanna bask in greatness and the goodness of young Bukayo Saka, here’s an unusual episode of the Handbrake Off podcast.

    https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podca...ow-about-arsenal/id1488521732?i=1000627035027

It’s made by Amy Lawrence and is a sort of audio testimonial to Bukayo, with interview quotes by Wrighty, Gunnerblog, Adrian Clarke, Steve Morrow, and others.

One surprising comment that really caught my ear was when Andries Jonker, who’s no slouch and who was Hale End manager around 2015.

He said he identified three players in his charge that were likely to make the first team, and Saka was NOT one of them.

Ps. Lynn Chaney (no not that one, the one that works at AFC) speaks with exactly the same accent as Keeley from Ted Lasso. And her story was the sweetest.
