Any of the big clubs or mid-table clubs need an American keeper?

Kinda hoping Matt Turner (of MLS) can get a move this summer to help strengthen the goalkeeping pool for the US.

  2. We only hire German goalies.

Wolfsburg and Mark van Bommel are busy recruiting Dutch talents… already linked with Ihattaren and Berghuis, and now reportedly pursuing Danjuma as well.

Danjuma has got to forced a move from Bournemouth, if he has any ambition to feature for the Dutch NT in coming season. It’s hard to get noticed playing in the lower league.

Van Bommel will be sacked before the season is over.

  5. Nah, he will win the CL.

Liverpool are in talks with PSV Eindhoven over signing Netherlands international Donyell Malen, according to reports.

The highly-rated forward scored 19 goals and registered eight assists in 32 Eredivisie matches last season.

Malen has kickstarted his career with PSV after struggling for first-team action at Arsenal

He is currently with the Netherlands squad at Euro 2020 and has assisted two goals in three matches.

Sky Sport Germany claim Liverpool are in discussions to sign Malen, who is valued at around £34million.

The 22-year-old’s stock has risen significantly since he was sold from Arsenal to PSV for just £540,000 in 2017.

Malen joined the Gunners as a teenager from Ajax in 2015, but failed to make a senior appearance for the first-team, before returning to his homeland.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp looks set to bolster his attacking options as Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah will be away on Africa Cup of Nations duty midway through the 2021/22 campaign.

Malen is hoping to help the Netherlands win Euro 2020 this summer

With the uncertain futures of Xherdan Shaqiri and Divock Origi, Malen would be welcome arrival at Anfield.

Malen, who is able to play as a winger or central striker, could also ease the pressure on Roberto Firmino to score goals for Liverpool.

There is talk that Liverpool may sell Salah. Signing Malen makes sense of that happens.

Malen needs to go to a club where he will start day in & out for the next 2 years. He doesn't need to directly go to Liverpool & compete with Firminho. Depay on the other hand has no idea what he is upto. There have been STs who are 34 or 35 who are amazing. Ronaldo is 36, Messi is 34.

Aguero will enjoy @ Barca with Messi, Ansu Fati, De Jong. Messi loves Aguero. And Aguero is leagues ahead in technical quality. Good luck Memphis ! You will need it !

Looks like Sancho transfer to Man Utd is set. Could pave the way for Malen to Dortmund…? Would be a terrific move, I suppose. Definitely a step up for him, and playing in Champions League is a good experience.

PSV can then unleash Gakpo… overall it would be awesome for Oranje to have forward options!!

Is Malen really a winger? No way he plays ahead of Reus or Haaland.

I think, at this point, Malen’s best position is a winger or a support striker. That’s what he did at PSV with Zahavi at the top of the spear. Maybe eventually when Malen gains strength and experience, he can play as a main striker (similar transition to that of Memphis).

  14. Cody Gakpo, despite interest from big clubs like Bayern, doesnot want to leave PSV this season.
PSV wants to keep him too, unless someone offers something more than 29 million that starts with a 3.
But then Cody has the last say in it.

  15. According to Schmidt both Malen and Dumfries are heading to the exit.

I am a fan Gakpo, I think he has a ceiling to become a first-team player for a top-5 team in a big league. Could be the Dutch version of Adebayor? Tall, lanky striker with long strides and speed.

That said, he’d be foolish to leave PSV this summer. He needs at least couple years under his belt to be ready for an adventure abroad. No point of rushing the process (see J. Kluivert, Bergwijn). Dominate Eredivisie first, outgrow and then go somewhere. I think with Malen is on his way out, the stage is nicely set for Gakpo to shine.

Specifically Gakpo needs to be better in his decision making. Just like other youngsters, he has a tendency to be “greedy” and try to do too much (like dribbling through 2-3 players). If he can cut his turnover rate, he’d be much more dangerous. Also needs to gain some muscle and upper-body strength. He’s too easy being pushed around to my liking.

Big talent. Hope he has the patient requires to become great.

Looks like Malacia could switch from Feyenoord to Brugge, if both clubs can agree on a transfer price (personal terms agreed already).

The Belgian league is not a step up from Eredivisie, but it would be nice to see Malacia getting some quality international matches (Brugge is in Champions League).

I think Malacia and Wijndal are the future of Oranje LB. No more Van Aanholt!! Not sold on Bakker, and he seems to hit a brickwall with management changes at PSG (he’s more of a LCB anyway).

  18. Brugge is a Feyenoord sanctuary. Many players from Feyenoord the last decade tranferred to Brugge.
With success, it has to be said. Brugge has more titles the last decade than Feyenoord:mad:

I’d hate to see Malacia go. Think he could be huge for Feyenoord this upcoming year. At least he isn’t going somewhere he won’t play

Feyenoord need to figure out a way to increase revenue. They are the worst of the top clubs at keeping players.

Playing Champions League serves as a catalyst for Brugge (or Ajax).

Rumor is that Myron Boadu is heading to Monaco (a deal could be struck within days). AZ already signed his replacement from Willem (Pavlidis).

I dislike this. Big mistake. Boadu is not ready to move abroad. He lacks consistency in the scoring department (last season was a disappointment IMHO), and he could regain confidence and really benefit from a regular playing time at AZ (vs. in-and-out rotation in a new club).

Moving to the French league is not really a step up. PSG is the only solvent club in the league and that is only because they are propped up by petro-euros. Lille are in the process of gutting their team that was league champions because the Chinese TV deal collapsed. The only thing Monaco has going for it is preferential tax treatment of salaries and maybe this is important to Boadu. Another bad move in the long history of wrong Dutch transfers.
