Overhype Mbappe got NOTHING today, still ZERO goal so far. He ain't gonna get the golden boot this year at this rate.

CR7 improved his free kick lol. So happy for him, it would break his heart if his NT not go through given how much he wants to win.
    Go go Portugal. CR7 :inlove:

Italy is my favorite national team, CR7 is my favorite forward. I mean I support Portugal to win it "after" Italy ofcourse.
If it an Italy vs. Portugal, I will always support Italy, forever.
National team always bigger than individual, being a Ronaldo fan doesn't mean he can win my national team lol.

Must be nice to get all those penalty shots and qualify again as a third place team. There won’t be no tears shed here when they get knocked out

Yep. UEFA needs to figure out something different, once again a ton of power houses on one side of the bracket.

Tournament either needs to be expanded to 32 teams or cut back down to 16 (16 teams will never happen though)

Top two teams advance. None of this best 4 third place teams nonsense

Qualifying also scrapped so you appease the clubs. Have teams qualify by Nations league ranking.

You might say that this will dilute the tournament further, but the length of the tournament remains at a month and you get more games. You could have added Greece, Serbia, Romania, Norway, Ireland, Iceland etc and it wouldn't hurt the tournament IMO

part of that is how overpowered group F is. It’s insane that F had the last 3 international champions. And also the underperformance of Spain.

I say either expand to 32 teams, or just have the group stage finish and then do a separate draw for the knockouts, like they do in the Champions League. That way, teams will have no real clue who their next opponent will be.

Hats off to Italian coach Marco Rossi!

I remember him as a tough player who even played in Mexico.

He had Hungary played Portugal until the 83rd minute and almost beat mighty France and Germany.

I hope he continues the great job.....

"Hey Siri... show me how much Uefa loves Italians and Serie A"

with all due respect.. a few of these guys had some good group stage performances.. but come on, not one Italian or Serie A based player listed? LOL

So far, what teams have been the most disappointing?

For me, it's been Turkey and Poland. I truly expected Poland to advance, and, at least, come up with a win in it's first knock out match.

Russia and Ukraine! I really expected a lot better from them. Ukraine maybe has some excuse due to the absence of Konoplyanka but still; too inconsistent.

Poland a little bit, but I never expected them to advance because of a tough group. I expected Sweden and Spain to go through at first and Slovakia vs Poland ending in a draw.

Italy's 1994 World Cup team says hi

Despite that little factoid, I agree with you.

Maybe have the top 2 teams in each group qualify for the second round, and just give a bye to the top four overall teams.

Ireland. Think tik tack toe football except you have shit players unable to do anything. The problem is the new coaches with their UEFA A license coming out with cookie cutter ideas all thinking they are the next Pep.

It was one game but he played there and it was not pretty. Lost would be the word to sum the performance up.
Zaniolo debuted against Madrid as a central midfielder and for 60 mins was the best player on the pitch. Pre injury this was his best spot imo. The ability to drive with such power through the center of the pitch is special, the most dangerous area in the pitch and he can carve you open at any moment. He can literally turn a game on its head. He was fitted onto the wing to make way for Pellegrini, the less said about that the better. Now going ahead with the injuries, who knows if he can do this. Such a shame at 20 to have done it twice. He might turn into a more complete controlling midfielder if he cant drive with the ball going ahead.

You know, it's funny listening to these broadcasters talking about Italy and how they always say "this isn't a team full of superstars" . You know they haven't watched any of these players at club level if they spew that nonsense but yet on here we have been talking for years about how promising our team is. Clowns.

this is so painfully true. It’s like this board and 17 other people watch Serie A in total. Barella is an absolutely brilliant player entering his prime. He would be the crown jewel of European soccer if he played in England.

There is talk that Chiellini will be fit for the quarter finals and they’re already setting the marquee :

Will it be a battle vs. his teammate CR?

    or

    His Inter arch nemesis Lukaku?

Well Holland is out. De ligt got sent off early in the 2nd half and the Czechs have not surprisingly dominated since pretty much.
