Ricardinho & Vanderson look pretty solid. Neither would be HG but we would have 1-2 seasons before we have to worry about them using a non-HG slot. Also seeing reports that Inter had a 9m euro offer rejected for Ricardinho.
It’s not the whole picture. It demonstrates an obvious relationship, i.e., a players pass completion rate goes down as he takes more chances with his passing. When playing for a manager that is risk adverse completion rates will go up, while his percentage of forward passes will go down, which is why I suggested these numbers should be viewed in the context of how risk adverse or risk taking the team is. Obviously most good players are going to be above the median line. The graph was for midfielders and defensive midfielders. The biggest outlier is De Bruyne who falls below the line, but I suspect that is because he is primarily an attacking midfielder playing in the offensive third where there is less room for forward passes. Other than that outlier coaches should be looking for players above the median that fir their style of risk vs risk adverse. A counterattacking team is going to be looking at players above the line on the left hand side of the graph, a possession team for players above the line on the right.
Please don’t judge players off stats and YouTube videos The Belgian league is horrific the premier league requires athletic ability and technique under pressure that’s why xhaka has looked good with time on the ball but horrible as the last man under pressure
I saw the Vanderson rumors a while back and I like him mostly for his name that is somehow Dutch, Scandinavian and Brazilian. It's fantastic. But on the same day he was rumored to be linked with Arsenal, he signed a new contract with Gremio.
What you can see on videos is athletic ability and Lokonga appears to be a good athlete. When I watch a highlight video that’s primarily what I’m looking to evaluate. For example, I don’t have access to Ligue 1 games, so all I’ve seen of Saliba is highlights, but it’s clear from those highlights he is a good athlete and, with the exception of Gabriel, that’s something Arsenal have lacked on defense since Koscielney left.
i'm not arguing that leno is all world but the list of people that would be an improvement on him does not appear to be overly long. i was not at all suggesting signing woodman to just be a "HG perpetual no 2" but an eventual no 1.
oh. no doubt, no doubt. you don't just take the first price given. i guess i'm overreacting from all the times we dicker over 3-5M to have someone else swoop in and finish the deal. (and that was when we had CL football on the table.) and then perpetual, "<wink> we knew about him, you know."
Seen some claims that Brighton may have some interest in Chambers, Willock, AMN and/or Eddie as make weight in any deal for White.
Arsenal facing strong rival interest, including from a club in England for Andre Onana. No bid made yet.Full story 👇https://t.co/SEJfaYl1dP— Charles Watts (@charles_watts) June 15, 2021
My problem with that story is "an unnamed England club". That screamd of Ajax or Onana's agent looking for more money or to escalate the deal.
Rodrigo de Paul is set to join Atlético Madrid, confirmed. €35m final fee. ⚪️🔴 #AtlétiAfter opening talks two weeks ago, Atléti now closing on final details to complete the agremeent. Contract until June 2026 to be signed soon.Arsenal never contacted Udinese for de Paul. https://t.co/oH2sH5nGgd— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) June 15, 2021
Probably the wrong age profile. One three or four year contract and then you can’t get back what you paid for him. He’s probably a good signing if he is the last piece, but he’s not the last piece for Arsenal.
I mean, great. We shouldn’t be interested in him anyway. Why is it news that we ‘never contacted Udinese’? Because there was some bullshit reporting on alleged interest?
highlights only show the good moments very rarely his reading and positioning anyone will stand out in the Jupiter league or whatever it’s called best way is to combine stats and watch full games to assess their role not just individual traits
.@DeanJonesSoccer: "Arsenal, from what I told want to sign at least 4, hopefully 5 players. And they're not players that just come into the squad. They are players that are competing for the first 11. I think they'll have a bigger budget than most expect them to." [@TFTerrace]— Sash ~ (@ltarsenal) June 15, 2021
Jittysoccer: Arsenal looking to sign 7-8 players, hot interest in Duncan Idaho for the Gurney Halleck role
Patrik Schick I definitely want him at Arsenal especially given what I just saw from him in the EUROs
We still need to sell or loan quite a few guys to be able to bring in 4-5 guys that can compete to start. I'm also very curious as to what that 4-5 means. We have current needs for starter or backup at GK, LB, RB, CMx2 & AM. That is 6 and doesn't count links to CBs & Ws or the possibility that we could need a ST if/when current ones are moved.
