There may be some discussion to have over the purpose and impact of players taking the knee, but it is something the authorities have allowed and something some of the players and coaching staff want to participate in. Those players and coaches will all have their own varying reasons for taking the knee, for example probably not just the origin and the events in the US, but for many of the England players will also be personal such as the racist abuse they have to suffer on social media and for others such as their colleagues will be the desire to show solidarity with them. It is a bit like praying - you may or may not agree with or even know the specific reasons for somebody taking a course of action, but who in their right mind would boo someone praying? Similarly who in their right mind would boo somebody taking the knee. Huge lack of respect for your fellow human beings. If nothing else, this continues to higlight an issue, not just from the action of taking the knee itself but from the reaction. Hopefully for example some of the politicians in the UK (not talking Farage - we all know what he is) will be held to account for some of their comments on this. If not now, then hopefully in the future.

There was an oped in one of the UK papers with some douche talking about why people are booing saying they don't have a problem with kneeling in general, the problem they have is with black lives matter. So they are opposed to the very thought that black lives should/could matter.
The thick gammon of the uk think they are a ‘Marxist’ organisation even though they don’t know what Marxism is
Have no fear folks. In 2024, United was sold to a consortium of French businessmen. (In Football Manager anyway - lol)

Thank God for that. A bomb was found in a parked car a few kilometers away from the Olimpico stadium in Rome. It has been safely defused by the Italian police before tonight's game between Italy and Switzerland. (Source: @CorSport)— Transfer News Live (@DeadlineDayLive) June 16, 2021
No, new stadium is just west of downtown, HCS is north east. But yeah. That name. Apparently it's a local mortgage company started by Dan Snyder (I think) wanting to get it's name out there. And just because... 22 years.Memories we'll 𝐚𝐥𝐥 cherish forever.Thank you, @CrewStadium. pic.twitter.com/mHtp8AECKH— The Crew (@ColumbusCrew) June 19, 2021

UEFA have today shared with the DFB that they have stopped the review of the rainbow captain's armband worn by @Manuel_Neuer.In a letter, the armband has been assessed as a team symbol for diversity and thus for a 'good cause.' #EURO2020 #GER pic.twitter.com/HFiAAQ6F5D— germanfootball_dfb (@DFB_Team_EN) June 20, 2021 The fact that UEFA even started some kind of investigation over this is just laughable...
Great to see. This is great news...Around 1.5m more people than before will have access to Automated External Defibrillators at grassroots venues as part of a Premier League initiative. #bbcfootball— BBC Sport (@BBCSport) June 25, 2021
Having a player have such a high-profile cardiac arrest was terrible, bit given the really short-window to get someones heart going again, will probably now have saved peoples lives who otherwise would have died or suffered severe brain trauma. Just a shame it took something like this given the money in the game and that this was not the first high-profile player incident.
Braithwaite living the dream apparently both on and off the pitch: how interesting and very cool how successful a life he's made for himself away from football. Martin Braithwaite is the second-richest player on FC Barcelona after Lionel Messi, per Forbes.Braithwaite owns a real estate business with his uncle that has a market value of €250 million as well as a clothing business with his wife and a smart house project in Philadelphia. pic.twitter.com/Xc67g5DTQW— Zach Lowy (@ZachLowy) July 8, 2021

Well said from Tyrone Mings. And Priti Patel, in the words of Det Murtaugh, go spit... You don’t get to stoke the fire at the beginning of the tournament by labelling our anti-racism message as ‘Gesture Politics’ & then pretend to be disgusted when the very thing we’re campaigning against, happens. https://t.co/fdTKHsxTB2— Tyrone Mings (@TyroneMings) July 12, 2021
