Curious how your gauging success at UNI, the program has gotten worse each year since Erikson took over. They've had one winning season since 2017 when prior coach left. He might be a good fit at Wyoming, but not sure he's a guy on the top of the list based on his track record. Didn't have much success in MVC with Creighton either.

I'm an Indiana guy but my recollection is Creighton has been in the NCAA tournament a few times...no? Wasn't that him? Am I thinking of the men's program?

I feel like this is getting quite late and there are big jobs open. They will lead to others opening up. Interim hires at that point? The knock on effect will harm someone along the way. Any other late coaching changes?

That was the men, who had great years under Elmar.

He took the program to their first ever conference final and has the most wins in a single season in school history. At a school like UNI I think that’s rather good. plus he looks a little bit like Bigfoot so he would fit in well in a place like the Wyoming wilderness.

I have no idea whether Bruce should be the Wyoming coach or even wants it but Creighton had plenty of success in the Missouri Valley when he was there. They went to the national tournament multiple times and was coach of the year a couple of times. The men did have more success as they were competing for national championships, but within the Valley I don't think you can argue they were really good during his time at Creighton. I do not know much about UNI and what has happened there. More of a history thing.

Tim at Northern Colorado is in close proximity. Very successful too. Would he be a look for Wyoming? Would make sense. Better funding for sure.

Is it clear that he will not be coaching the team or will he still be the coach? He already was handling some duties in addition to coaching. It sounds like he will not be coaching, but they have not changed their staff directory, so I cannot tell for sure. If anyone actually knows (vs just having an opinion), please post.

Bramble will no longer be coaching the team. The new administration hire announcement listed his experience of head women's soccer coach at George Mason during 2015-2021, so with an end date it's clear he is moving on. And Dirk Vandeveer is only coach listed now so it's for sure certain.

Timing is so tough now, less than 2 months before the start of the season. Wonder if they give it to Vandeveer. First major recruiting weekend just happened and he was out there. Plenty of coaches in the DC area, wonder if they would consider someone like a current assistant at Georgetown, Maryland, or GW. Obviously they can look beyond the local area but knowing the DC/Maryland/northern Virginia landscape is a plus. And quite a few coaches are out there that have played or coached in that area that may be willing to come back.

Bramble is a good man. Forthright. I remember a meeting with participants at some id camp and he said straight out "If you pursue this, you will ask yourself 'what did I get myself into?' " Many girls needed to hear that at that time. It's all "next level" and "college coaches attending" money hype generated from clubs, clinic and tournament organizers. Speaking of the DC region, where are the plenty of GMU coaching candidates? The safe cash cow is burrow in at the club level all along the 95 cash corridor. Particularly in Federally subsidized Md and Va. Ask Nadir or Harkes, for example. The revenue keeps coming. They're all glad they're not the poor college coaches making beans soliciting them for player data.

For example, in regards to digging in like a Tennessee tick into youth sports industries, or whatever Blaine said in Predator, Harkes brought in her recently graduated protegee as a youth coach (i.e. successor as MYS god). No penniless college soccer volunteer assistant, recruiting coordinator, AC route for her. Nor sweating any real workforce ambitions or dealings, for that matter. They know where the cash and leverage lies. In youth, you're the broker on the dais for $-chucking parents and groveling college coaches. Even the old man won't go near a college job, just toils with "pro" clubs.

Anyone hear anything on Minnesota job? Top assistant didn't follow Golan and she has had an interview apparently.

The Michigan rumor mill is buzzing, the girls are talking, and it sounds like the MSU gig for Hostler is a done deal.

Amazing if this is true. It'd be a test for him for sure. MSU is in shambles and he’d be leaving DII Oz. But I could understand his reasoning.

Exactly what I was thinking when I first saw another poster make the connection out here a couple weeks back. Seems to be gaining steam though. The fact that some of the players are talking about it makes me believe that it's real. I guess we will see when announced, or not.

I'm sure the GVSU guy's mind was made up the second he put the application in. I heard GVSU countered but he considered it as a courtesy. It's not about income so much about his kids having access to a free MSU/B10 degree and his soccer playing kids guaranteed roster spots on MSU/B10 vs. GVSU. That's what I found so disingenuous about the women's soccer recruiting process. But that's free market, sell high. Anyway, with the MI school restrictions over the past year, the elementary schools jump won't be a big deal. It's not like a thousand miles move. And his name, contacts and leverage will get offspring into the top clubs in EL. The time is right in every way. I heard part of the negotiations was an MSU car and gas per diem for a 70 mile commute from GR but I think he'll just move the brood,

There’s never been a question of “if” he wanted the MSU job. He’s a Lansing guy and he’s always coveted that job. Personally, I’m just amazed that he can be the best choice.

He didn’t build GV to a power, DD did. He, no doubt, maintained GV. But knowing that league and seeing his teams play over the years, the level has dropped. And yes I know they won the ‘19 d2 championship also. Look at his rosters. Built mostly on transfers and so many kids leave. And a good number have been impactful players. Tells me, as an outsider, that the team culture is questionable at best.

He’ll have to build at MSU. I don’t know if he can keep a locker room, over time, if they’re losing. And they will continue to lose for a while as it builds with whoever is next so that culture piece is a very important one.

He can improve the MSU program. May take some time though. Dilanni had a lot of bad years before having a good season during COVID. Now the country is returning to a normal season I can see Iowa taking a major dip.

Curious why a back to normal season would equate to a major dip? Is that an Iowa specific observation or something more broad?

yeah, the MSU AD is likely focusing on their teetering/transitioning rev sports, especially with tight bankrolls. New guy in football not liked much by players/recruits, aged Izzo on the way out, sooner than later, due to transfer portal (Roy and K can't cope with it...these figurehead head basketball jobs are not so easy street anymore) and grabbing that kid at the NCAAs. GVSU guy is an easy, convenient zoom hire. Cheap UHaul relo. They aren't bothering with the trees from the forest with this.

I would think most competent coach could as they have underachieved for as long as I can remember?
