I disagree about the goalkeeping. The keeper couldn't see it for the first moment through the traffic and, at with a shot at that power, if your weight is leaning anything but already in the correct position (i.e. lucky), all you can do is throw your hands at it, no time to change your body position.

Yueill #1 in distance covered in week 3... MLS leaders in distance covered, week 3:1. Jackson Yueill 12.26km2. Wil Trapp 12.25km3. Jesus Medina 12.20km4. Hassani Dotson 12.18km5. Cristian Roldan 12.06km— Tom Bogert (@tombogert) May 4, 2021 Yueill’s progression in tactical awareness and defensive ability has been really impressive over the past 4 years. Especially these past couple years under Almeyda. Getting him at #6 in the SuperDraft was an absolute steal. https://t.co/AfVAM5HQAv— anay (@anaypatel) May 5, 2021
https://www.sjearthquakes.com/post/...ining-camp-ahead-friendly-against-switzerland San Jose Earthquakes midfielder Jackson Yueill was one of 27 players called to the United States Men’s National Team for a training camp ahead of a friendly match vs. No. 13-ranked Switzerland on May 30 in St. Gallen.

Yet another example of the Goodsport "cut and paste" method of posting: "Why post in one thread when you can find three or four in which to insert the identical post?"

Prelim is a massive 60 player roster, a real long shot for him to make it to the final roster but I would love to see Cade get a little grimy and dish it out concacaf-style to a few of those teams. Honestly, he is exactly the type of physical player we need on the roster to deal with all the thuggery...with speed to burn over the top on the counter...he's ideal for the concacaf mixers. It will be interesting to see if GB brings in Yueill, given he just was out for the Nations Cup.
I think Jackson is the first Quake to win silverware with the USMNT since Wondo and the Gold Cup back in 2013. I'd love to see him get onto the roster. Also, really pleased to see Cade get recognized. I agree that he could one day be there. I hope this helps motivate him to keep upping his game.
NEWS: Earthquakes Midfielder Jackson Yueill Named to U.S. National Team Roster for 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup https://www.sjearthquakes.com/news/...-yueill-named-to-u-s-national-team-roster-for The Gold Cup runs throughout the month of July. Assuming the US make it to the final, Jackson will likely miss all Quakes games in July.
That will be good for his career, I think, because being associated with the dumpster fire we appear to have become is probably in nobody's best interest...
Yueill came under a lot of fire after his Nations League performances. People are starting to use “Yueill-like” as an example of what not to be. I think the Quakes need him more, and he’d be better off declining the Gold Cup, where he’ll probably be on the bench anyway. His international career isn’t going to go anywhere as long as he is on a wooden spoon team, he needs to help the quakes get out of wooden spoon territory.
Well Matias in an interview said that JY future was in Europe. Maybe Matias will help him get there rather than waste away in a dysfunctional organization. I mean he has looked out for the best interests of Vega/Rios/Ferro.........and others why not JY?
I know Yueill wants to go to Europe, and with Matias’ blessing, no doubt he will go there. And i’m sure Jesse’s family agency will try to be his agent in such a move. But Jackson has looked terrible in the last month. Maybe he needs to stay home and get back to basics.
@bsman, did you watch the last 3 USMNT games in the Nations league? Jackson was pretty pretty bad. I don’t remember which game it was, he played an entire 1H without making one tackle. He was running around marking a guy named Space. I don’t know what instructions Berhalter was giving him, but it was like Almeyda style x -180 degrees. And then his passing deteriorated to zilch. I was alarmed. It’s gotta be 90% mental.
