Weah crushed at midfield on a counter, not sure why that wasn’t a yellow.

What a frickin leg breakin foul on Weah - that was a red card no question.

Does France want to watch exciting soccer or just watch Frenchmen kicking each other to death. Cheeeez

ON the broadcast they just said Bielsa was fired with LiIlle in relegation zone with a few games remaining to save the situation which the current coach did when hired to replace Bielsa.

I love me some Leeds but sounds like Bielsa simply overplayed his hand in the Lille situation.

When you go through a renewal of a squad and the brass make it clear that they don't approve of it, a player revolt is just the natural followup.

Lens keeper walks off his post game interview. Thank heavens cool headed Frenchmen were in charge at Yorktown when we kicked Britass.

I could see hiring Bielsa for USMNT on day 1 of the 2026 cycle. That would give everybody time to ensure the "master plan" stays on the rails. In a club situation it is kind of an annual trial for everybody which is not ideal for a Bielsa type who wants his basics just so - which is why he was clever to start in Ch/ship.

I'd imagine a personality like Bielsa would find it hard to leave the day to day grind of a club to manage a country he doesn't speak the language of. He said just the other day that it kills him he can't communicate his thoughts yet in English after all this time at Leeds. Would love him to -- I think everyone he coaches and works with is better off for it. He seems like an amazing human being and someone it must be said who still, after all this time, finds ways to be effective and innovative.

We'll get him the right personnel to ensure language is not a problem. Also he has more time in Prem coming up and he'll just keep getting better and better at the King's English. It would be hard to see in any of Leeds' games where there was a lack of communication.

In terms of what happens on the field or at training? No, probably not. But Bielsa is a cerebral and passionate man. I think his struggles are with not being able to interact with the fans, press, and wider staff on a personal level.

Weah is on the bench for the season finale away to Angers. The game starts at 3 pm eastern on beIN Sports Xtra.

The Ligue 1 title race heading into the final match day:

    1. Lille OSC 80 pts +40 GD
    2. Paris Saint-Germain 79 pts +55 GD @ Brest
    3. Monaco 77 pts +34 GD @ Lens

Third place also comes with either a Champions League 3rd qualifying round (if Villareal win the Europa League) or play-off round (if Manchester United win the Europa League) spot instead of a group stage spot.

I want to see Tim score the game winner so I can say that trading Weah cost PSG a league title.

David wins a penalty that is converted by Burak Yılmaz just before the half.

    HT 2-0 Lille

PSG leads 1-0 at the half while Monaco is scoreless.

I see it's still Angers 0-2 Lille at 72' - only one sub so far (Bamba in for Yazici). I'm feeling impatient ...

Some good shots of Weah on the sideline looking nervous with 2 minutes left.

It’s over! Lille win the league. Another Yank trophy perhaps the most impressive yet.

Full time. Weah didnt play, but is celebrating as a champ. 2-1 win and taking the title by one point over that little club from Paris.

Won, Ligue 1 Champions, but ultimately unsatisfying.

Weah gotta get outta this place, if it's the last thing Weah ever do. Weah gotta get outta this place, Tim there's a better team for (me and) you.

Ha! Now I got that damn little jingle in me head.

On a serious note.... It wouldn’t surprise me to see some players get plucked form Lille. There could be some turnover. However, the could replenish fair well given the money they could receive via sales. It might not be a bad situation for Weah. The problem is, he and Lille have to figure that out pretty quickly.
