821k total in transfer fees for women in 2020. And on the men side just one player you see 40 million or more.

So Dunn is the all time most expensive transfer in women's football?

Guess this could count as transfer fee right?

No, she is not. Technically, these are two separate transfers, one from NC Courage to OL Reign costing $140,000, and one from OL Reign to Portland Thorns for $200,000-250,000. This is still lower per transaction than Harder's transfer fee from VfL Wolfsburg to Chelsea for $250,000-350,000. However, this makes Crystal Dunn the player with the highest total transfer fees combined, totalling $340,000-390,000.

The problem with comparing transfer fees is that for the NWSL, they are only part of the transaction value. For the Thorns acquisition of Dunn from OL Reign, the other value was one international slot for a year and the Portland #1 pick in the 2022 college draft. They both have value.

Yes, that's very true (although it is not hard money). Furthermore, exchanging players makes it even harder to compare. In Dunn's move to OL Reign, a transfer of Casey Murphy (GK) to NC Courage was also involved. However, it is hard to estimate the additional value of Murphy. A few years ago Endler was transferred to PSG for €30,000. Murphy is not at her level, but then it is 2020 instead of 2017. Hopefully, the increased number of transferred players in the upcoming years will make cost comparisons easier.

Not sure what it is, but Aston Villa must have some sort of appeal. They brought in players from Frauen Bundesliga clubs in the tier below Wolfsburg and Bayern over the summer, and now, they've signed Iwabuchi.

The club has decided to invest with a bigger budget and improved training conditions and moved to a better stadium.

I know Ingrid Engen is very tempted to join the Rosenborg project on the rise just like Kristine Minde did, but I can't imagine she will return home already at the age of 23. A wild guess is that England looks more likely.

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.fi...-publishes-global-transfer-market-report-2020

A FIFA report on 2020 transfers came out. Women's transfer fees totalled 1.2M$. The top 5 transfer fees were paid for: Pernille Harder, Temwa Chawinga, Barbra Banda, Ellie Carpenter, and Valerie Gauvin, totalling about 0.9M$. We know the transfer fees of Harder ($350000), and Gauvin ($115000-120000), while the two African players together costed $301000. Thus, Carpenter costed about $130000-140000.

Life on the bench at Chelsea is finally over for Maria Thorisdottir. New start at Man United.

I'm curious to see where Rolfo goes--and I wonder why she left Wolfsburg. Maybe she's got a good offer....
