Well if that was it, that seems to have backfired. Tierney was burned on that goal.

Edit: I take that back. It wasn't Tierney, it was Ceballos. I just saw the highlight and he was slower or gave up sooner than I even remembered. Awful.

Ceballos was burned on it. Tierney just put in a cross that was cleared. That goal isn't on him in the slightest, unless we were playing a system in which fullbacks never attacked.

I think you are mistaking Ceballos for Tierney. Tierney was up the pitch and not even close to Perreira.

I thought it was a little odd how quick Arteta was to use all 3 subs. Now will Willian down and looking dodgy... it could be a rather nervous last 10-15 mins. We cling to a 2-1 lead, with WBA really feeling it.

Whoever it was didn't have the pace to stay with Perriera, but instead pointed to his teammates on what they needed to do, since he couldn't hold his man.

Edit: I have just seen the highlight, and you're right it was Dani. I stand corrected. And man, he was even slower and gave up sooner, than I even remembered. Very ready to see him go back to RM.

    Willian? WTF 3-0

p.s. Yes it was a sweet take by Willian, but the keeper set the wall to his left and then didn't cover his right??

Well, after reading the thread and the PBP it sounds rather pedestrian. If only the lads had been this pedestrian against other ”lower" clubs.

Not sure what to take from these last few matches other than opportunities to blood some youth.

First half WBA came out hot but couldn't convert anything. We then took charge and finished the half on fire. Second half we may have tried to manage 2-0 lead a bit (I was working while watching so not doing a great job of either, and others may want to weigh in)

As for blooding youth, based on today's lineup, I don't think we're going to see that until we're mathematically eliminated from a Europa spot (5th or maybe 6th place?). Whatever.

3 very nice goals today. Even with that there was little zip in this match. I think that illustrates how poor West brom are.

no, no. we are to play in a system in which people with attacking nous are . . . hold on, *checks notes* "wasted" at left back. that's why we cannot put saka at left-back because he would never ever be able to put in assists from there.

it helps that one of their starters in midfield cannot play against us. :D

naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, all them people suggesting it were completely and utterly wrong.

he would have been wasted there and never ever be able to contribute to the offense. just purely impossible, really.

they're pretty dire there. furlong efforts but is really not premier league quality. that was apparently one of the positions allardyce wanted help at in january but they had too many holes.

Yeah, but he’s always been terrible. It just took Arteta this long to admit it.

Remember when you were advocating against Saka at left fullback? Good times.
