Hopefully I've gotten the day and time correct this week. Rapids come in with a bit of momentum having gotten their first win of the season last week. MUN comes in with no momentum (aggregate score of 1-7) and apparently some solid talent. According to Fraser: Robin Fraser #Rapids96 #COLvMIN Preview Presser: "We're looking forward to coming back home and playing in front of our fans. Didn't play well last time, looking forward to showcasing who we are. #MNUFC is still a very good team, the fact that they haven't won is irrelevant."— Matt Pollard (@LWOSMattPollard) May 6, 2021 Also looks like the Rapids are healthy for this match.
Hate to break it to you but it's 8pm. https://www.coloradorapids.com/competitions/mls-regular-season/2021/matches/colvsmin-05-08-2021/
Fixed! Guess I need to pay a bit more attention to the details before I post. I knew it was going to start at 8pm and just didn't double check as I was pleased with getting the day correct this time.
Upcoming #Rapids96 match vs. Minnesota United on May 8 will be live streamed #COLvMIN https://t.co/hFnYUeafhF— Burgundy Wave (@Burgundywave) May 4, 2021
Livesoccertv says Altitude will broadcast but Directv shows Avalanche on the main channel and Nuggets on the alternate?
I follow the Loons pretty closely-- they are not as bad as the 0-3 record shows right now. I think that their bad start has something to do with Adrian Heath's tactical stubbornness. This won't be an easy game. I'll predict a high scoring draw, say 2-2 or 3-3.
Player status on the media game notes just lists Galvan and Beitashour as OUT. No questionable players, Vines, Abubakar, and Price are not listed in the injury report.
Yup he did not renew after 2020. He still lives in Denver according to Instagram. Given our inability to finish I don't think it's out of the question to give him a call!
Interesting, ColoradoRapids.com still shows Kortne Ford as Injured. Intern either forgot to update or he's still having issues
I predict a high scoring win. 4-2 Rapids. I'm out of town and won't be there. Hopefully I'll catch it on ESPN+.
I think Kort is officially on the IR and not eligible for a couple more games, which is probably why he was left out of the media game notes.
2-1 win, goals by Rubio and Namli. Minnesota has looked bad so far and while that can't last I think we can take advantage while they're down. They've only scored once this season but they have too much talent to not expect them to find a way to get a goal on the board. We're going to need to step up for our first multi-goal game of the season. http://view-from-the-couch.blogspot.com/2021/05/1-year-2-months-and-1-day.html

I’m a lot less optimistic about tonight’s game than most. I think we squeak out a hard fought 1-1 tie that could’ve gone either way with a few close calls on both ends of the field. Minnesota still has a lot of talent on their roster, it just hasn’t clicked for them yet. Unless the Rapids come out swinging, take control of the game early, and don’t let the Loons get a foot hold on the game, it’s going to be a long night.
Obviously the Rapids struggles with finishing have been an issue this season, particularly v Dallas and Vancouver. Thus, one key for this match in my book is whether or not they can improve in this area. Thinking of the last match v MUN, lack of finishing was a major factor. The Rapids were energized and generating good opportunities but failed to score. Same thing in the first 10 minutes or so of the second half. It's gonna be fun to see Vines and Acosta on the pitch together tonight. Each in their own way make the Rapids much better both defending and on the attack.
2-0 victory. I never predict clean sheets, but I see the Rapids playing a defensive game and what the heck. Shin and Acosta with the goals.
Got to stop with the turn overs trying to get ball out of our own end. That and Wilson's utter lack of any speed over a light jog are just killing us giving up goals. We do not look like the MLS team that returned the most Players (PT wise) from 2020, we look like a team playing together for the first time.
I think the biggest positive we can pull from the first half is that at least Reynoso’s screamer of a free kick won’t win goal of the week - thanks to FSL’s Rubio Rubin’s bicycle kick last night. That’s it. Biggest positive I can think of out of that half. Hopefully Fraser has got something up his sleeve for second half adjustments, because man...we’re not getting much going right now
2-0 deficit at half. And well deserved. Not sure whether Shin touched the ball. Rubio the same. Barrios kicked it as hard as he could...the ball boys are on their toes.
