Kante was man of the match. A beast on both goals, very solid throughout.

So thrilled that Pulisic made an impact with that great assist. I can’t believe TT’s strategy worked to a tee… or should we say worked to a TT

He probably even win it this time.

City is going to suffer the same fate as Madrid did. City's defense is too old and slow to stop this fast/quick Chelsea attack.

It was like pulling teeth getting Kante to modernize his game. It started with Lamps and continued with Tuchel. It finally paid off. Now if we can do the same with Adams, Pulisic will have a mid to play with on the national team as well. I say that since Adams says his idol is Kante but you have to wonder how much he idolizes the change in his game. The problem is that Kante has soft feet; Adams not so much.

I thought Pulisic was motm because when Madrid was desperate for one single goal, Pulisic came on and gave them fits and sealed the deal. You don't like it? So sue me.

I'd take Thiago Silva over any CB in the world. That man has got Carles Puyol like ESP.

I only just noticed now, that the ball before Kante nicked it from the 50/50 was after CP won a *header*.
    The irony.

Defense is more than just the CBs.

Are you thinking of like NYCFC? The only old part of their defense is Fernandinho and he inexplicably gets 10 fouls to use before he gets a card so he’ll be fine.

If you look at every player along the back line, their backups, and their DM and DM backups, out of 13 players, Fernandinho is the only one that's over 30. They have the least goals conceded in the EPL this season by a mile.

theres a lot that goes into that particular statistic.

with that said Pulisic will be up against a tremendous challenge in Dias, less so with Stones who’s still really good

That didn't stop Pulisic from running past their defense/midfield and score.

When Kante can contribute in attack as well, he's truly unstoppable. He is and always has been a king-maker.

Not really. Kante sure seems to have a lot of fans on BS. Here are WS ratings

    jorghino MOTM 8.0
    werner 7.9
    Havertz 7.8
    Kante/Mendy 7.7
    Mount 7.6
    Rudiger 7.2
    Christensen 7.0
    Apzpi/Silva/Chillwell 6.8

b.t.w., after side eye from the BS cognoscenti when I said Puli > Hazard, what do you think of me now? Hazard WS 6.3 and was subbed out. Hazard is a princess who complains about a pea in his bed; Pulisic is unplayable, to use and English expression.

Unplayable from a defense perspective, or Tuchel perspective?

    WHERE are those ratings from?

They're pretty... er... 'strange', shall we say.

I'm guessing they're based on some sort of mathematical nonsense where somebody has had to 'interpret' the difficulty and importance of a specific action. That's fine but ti depends on whether they make the right choice. if they don't know anything about the game, it's a matter of, 'garbage in/garbage out'.

I mean Werner was almost the best player on the pitch, eh?! Er... OooKaaay!!!
Well, it depends when we're talking about, doesn't it.

Hazards was always a player who, like a lot of attacking players, (including Pulisic of course), rely on speed and acceleration and he's now over 30, so...

Just because the outcome worked in your favor doesn’t mean it was the right decision. Not starting possibly your best player (and clearly your best attacking player) in a game like this is a bad move. Fortunately for Chelsea, they still won. I mean, you could go have a dozen beers at the pub and decide to drive home. You might not kill anyone, but it was still a stupid decision.
