Which position? I would like him to start at RB but that means we will miss his energy in the midfield and the runs he makes in the box. Sucks that he's been out for past two weeks not sure how fit he is.

Yep but to be fair Vinnie and Rodrygo are kids so that is to be expected, Asensio is the disappointing one and it’s getting to the point it feels like we’re playing with one less with him on the pitch.
As for Hazard, he’s still nowhere near when he can be but he’s starting to show promise, I agree with you and would start him mid week as well, bring Vinnie or Rodrygo off the bench for spark.

He looked fine to me. Definitely looks fitter and more lively since his return

I know he hasn't done anything spectacular or even good.

Not trying to lower the bar. Just being objective and he looks to be moving in the right direction albeit a little late in the season

If there is any truth to the conspiracy that he was saving himself for an easy run of games to prepare for the Euros....

Hope he turns this whole shitshow around by knocking out his old club. I'd love him just for that.

At this point, he's fresh legs and something different than "Let Vini and Asensio run at the defense". He can play in tight spaces and help penetrate low blocks. Something those other two fail at SPECTACULARLY. I hope he will be effective against Chelsea and injury-free.

And I still stand by it: If he gets injured one more time these last few games, He's dead to me.

Not sure if people watch the right game. Chances created in first half:-

    1 reverse flick to Asensio
2 headed flick to Benzema from odri cross
3 shot on target saved by osasuna GK

    4 ball recoveries
There's no doubt he's starting against Chelsea [emoji122]

I thought he looked ok in the first half. Especially the first part of the half. Did some good things. Was lively. Connected well with karim.

Hope he can keep improving and maybe give us a goal or an assist on Wednesday.

Only problem is all of those happened within a 15 minute span and he looked absolutely burned out after the 30th minute.

Main reason why he should play against Chelsea is because at some point he'll have to earn his money.

Earlier I mentioned that he shouldn't receive a start for the remainder of the season, as others deserved to build on their form. Having said that, I do believe that Chelsea's style of play may justify a Hazard start. They are defensively oriented, close down players rather quickly and double-team on certain forwards in order to neutralize their impact. We've seen Vinicius struggle a lot against Azpi and Christensen (of all players..) due to this. Zidane needs to take that into consideration (and I'm sure he will).

For me, if Fede is available I'd consider a (i) midfield with Fede, Modric, Casemiro and Kroos and (ii) attack with Benzema and Hazard. If Fede isn't available, I'd go with the three obvious ones in midfield and give Hazard, Benzema and Rodrygo the benefit of the doubt. I know Rodrygo's addition is controversial, but I feel Vini's impact against tight defenses (definitely ones that defend very closely and breath in the attacker's neck the whole game) is rather minimal. Rodrygo has more tools in that respect.

Can't wait for the game, regardless of what Zidane chooses!

The stage is set for him. He can shake off a lot of Madridismo animosity towards him by delivering on this stage.

Much will be forgiven if he can take us to the Champions League final by performing at his old level against his former club in Stamford Bridge

It is very unlikely that this will materialize. I think if it doesn’t work at the start of the 2nd season, then it’s not meant to.

Do people really think he'll do it in a second leg CL final against Chelsea?

The guy had an okay 15 minutes at the weekend but was blowing up soon after. Blind faith won't make it come true.

My expectations are such that if he somehow manages to stay healthy and scores a single goal before the season’s end that’ll exceed them.

I’m surprised when this thread gets bumped and it’s NOT news of another injury lol.
