Danjuma yes, any day and any time. The guy is just waiting explode. I was more implying to the likes of weghorst or even botman should he be called up to replace Blind.

Lets dont forget how the debut of Van dijk, de ligt were marked with nervy moments.

I'm already boycotting the Qatar WC and am getting pretty close to ignoring the Euros unless this pathetic player selection improves. The KNVB are just too stupid by keeping de Boer on. They must realize that his roster selection is rubbish.

El Ghazi looks like he is the PK taker today. Converts early to give Villa a 1-0 lead!!!

His problem at villa as been his consistency. Can be brightest spark in one game and then be switched off in the next game. Still think he can ignite with few games at NT level. If berghuis is getting selected in NT then he is no exception. It will just be waste of him to comes back to eredivisie and bang goals like what klaassen and berghuis to get called up by NT.

Boadu and Stengs were poor against Ajax today

Stengs was ok to some extent, overall the whole team was poor or ajax simply had more cutting edge on and off the bench. AZ only looked good on counters. For Boadu I think he needs better players around him. His positioning was excellent. For instance when martnez slipped and Gundmundsson broke clear, boadu had positioned himself unmarked but Gudmundsson decided to pull the trigger himself and shot straight at stekelenberg. Boadu kicked his leg in the air furiously letting him know it was the wrong option. The was another instance inside the box when martinez brilliantly cleared the ball from behind him wtith a classic tackle which if not would have a sure goal.

He had a torrid time with Martinez .

Jayden braaf scored his first goal in Serie A for Udinese. Nothing spectacular but is already looking promising.

  8. I started watching the second half and thought AZ was horrible. After that I watched the first half replay and actually AZ was the better/more dangerous team. Alvarez had a match deciding interference in an open goal mouth and Stek had fine saves too. So I wonder what happened in the break. The so so match in 2nd half of Boadu and Stengs was more a result of AZ's midfield being completely awol. They both were on an island.

It was bizarre as Ajax have been playing twice a week and AZ had 14 days off because of the Dutch Cup. You would not have known this if you just watched the 2nd half as AZ looked tired while Ajax took it up a gear. At half time I was ready to settle for a 0-0 draw!:p

Updated stats for Oranje attackers... Clubs appearances in all competitions (not counting NT caps).

Weghorst is still the top dog. With a goal and an assist today, Memphis hit a double-double milestone, joining Berghuis - the only other player with this feat.

Lang is on a hot streak. 3 goals and 1 assist in last 3 matches. He (and resurging Gakpo) are crucial for Jong Oranje quarter-final match v. France later this month.

Bolded players were part of the last Oranje squad.

It goes without saying that you have to take the numbers with a grain of salt as the level of the intensity varies from one league to another.

    Weghorst.... 37(1) apps, 25 goals, 7 assists
    Malen... 34(7) apps, 23 goals, 7 assists
    Memphis.... 33(4) apps, 21 goals, 10 assists
    Berghuis... 36(1) apps, 19 goals, 12 assists
    Lang... 26(5) apps, 16 goals, 7 assists

    Danjuma... 30(4) apps, 15 goals, 7 assists
    Boadu... 30(4) apps, 13 goals, 1 assist
Luuk de Jong... 17(17) apps, 9 goals, no assist
    El-Ghazi... 15(11) apps, 9 goals, no assist
    Gakpo... 12(2) apps, 8 goals, 4 assists

    Promes... 19(13) apps, 8 goals, 3 assists
    Stengs... 36 apps, 7 goals, 6 assists
    Babel...19(16) apps, 5 goals, 5 assists
    J. Kluivert... 6(17) apps, 2 goals, no assist
    Kadioglu... 8(20) apps, 1 goals, 2 assists

    Bergwijn
    ... 13(12) apps, no goal, 3 assists
Dilrosun... 2(7) apps, no goal, 1 assist

Answer this question, how many matches has he played this season? That will give you the answer.

No way. I love the guy, epic player, but he’s finished at top level. Would much rather take someone like Lang or Danjuma.

I can't fathom what Lyon is thinking.... letting their top goal scorer, an elite striker at his peak age (who can potentially have an explosive Euro '20 tournament that would double his market value, I might add), to leave on a FREE transfer :eek::eek:

Other than PSG, none of the French teams have large operating budgets. I'm sure Lyon tried to extend Depay but doubt they had the money to do so.

  19. If I was him, I wait out if Barca is banned or not from playing CL football next season.

More importantly, whether they have any money to pay him?

Victim of circumstances. Lyon wouldve sold him last year but Covid got in the way. Barca simply didnt have the money, so now they get him for free

Anyone caught FdB interview with ESPN?

I didn't... but read some interesting summary on Twitter on the state of attacking line.

Weghorst is set to be selected
Babel is in, as well :speechless:
    Gakpo unlikely

If Robben makes the team and Weghorst starts scoring for Oranje, we have a legit chance to win the Euro this summer.

If Tom Brady can win a super bowl at age 43, then why cant Robben make Oranje at age 37??
