Love him or hate him Almeyda's style can win games. The players clearly still buy into him. A type of performance we're used to. Consistency is the queston. Does he have the horses?

There!! Some decent play by Haji, and then Rios kills the play because he sucks.

Also, on the Wondo red card, I did not see the ref show the red card at first. I thought he showed a yellow, then reviewed it, then rescinded the yellow and changed it to red. Did I miss something?

    Thanks!!

    And go Quakesfans!!
    Go Quakes too!!

I hope the dumb yellows, like our guys reacting in an unsportsmanlike way in response to calls, don't come back to bite us.

Alright game, I had fun. Didn't enjoy one member here I met following me around and asking me out to coffee and dinner etc for 20 minutes.

JT is real suspect, against a better team the score might be reversed. I'm happy with the result, but very leerious as to that being what we are. Dallas was real trash today.

Wondolowski I think deserved the red. Had that been a Dallas player we'd scream for a red, then applaud if it was reversed to a higher card like that too.

5-7 games like this then I'll begin to believe, if we're right back to trash next week then I'll claim it as Dallas sucks

They played ok. Either Dallas is really bad or the Quakes improved a great deal. Cowell had a good goal. Espinosa had a crappy pk but made up for it with his goal later on.

I think they got the style down and know what do it’s just that they seem really slow at times.

We are way ahead of the last 2 years, where we were horrible for 4 straight games and then horrible for 2 games when the pandemic saved us. One relatively close road game and one good home game. Of course our competition hasn’t been the best. But Dallas finished 6th last year so not so bad.

We were very lucky those first five minutes as the whole nature of the game would have changed if Dallas had been successful...which they should have been!

We also missed a penalty early on so I think the luck evened out.

Wondo red deserved... I'm way surprised the showed the replay tbh. It didn't look like he did it on purpose, but there it was.

I thought we played pretty well through most of the game. I really liked the triangles in the middle between Chofis, Yueill and sometimes Remedi.

I think Cade might make team of the week. Beautiful pass for the assist... looked like outside of the right foot, perfect weight, but I need to see a replay. Regardless, pretty nifty for an adult, much less a 17 y/o.

Cowell awesome. Man of the match (player of the week consideration?). Fierro solid. Chofis looked better than last week. He had some nice interplay with Tommy and Yueill in the first half. Also saw him getting on his horse and pressuring a bit. Good win.

I thought we sucked hard for the first 30 minutes. FCKD had the better of the attacking play, we only looked dangerous once or twice. The Burnt should have been up a goal or two before our first PK. On the first PK (which was deserved) we didn’t look that dangerous. But we got the call, as we should have. Espinoza didn’t convert, nice guess and save by their ‘keeper. At 34’ we got the first goal on the Alanis PK. From there on, we looked better and FCKD were chasing the game more.

Our defense looked shaky the whole game. Marginally better after Judson came on, and then moved to d-mid.

Our offense was out of joint for the first 20 or 30 minutes, then they got on track. If we could play like we did at the start of the second half regularly, we could be pretty good. But we’d better not need 20 or 30 minutes to find our way each game.

Cade should be MOTM. Nice game, assist and a goal, and several other nice plays. He looks good.

Judson to start in place of Remedi should help us defensively.

Chubis is awful, and he got another yellow card.

    Rios is still garbage.

Haji was not garbage, so that was encouraging.

I actually expect us to be better next week. But Chubis needs to step up and stop collecting yellow cards. With no Wondo next week, maybe we see Benji as a sub? Probably not.

I remain pessimistic about our team. We just aren’t good enough, not coordinated enough, not talking to each other enough, and too many players not putting out a strong enough effort.

    Go Quakesfans!!

The team woke up after the second goal. Want to see more of Haji. Remedi has no upfield vision

Yellow card for that!! No stalking fellow Quakesfans. Not cool.

I thought the red on Wondo was a bit harsh, it wasn’t a bad foul. But the ref did hand out a lot of cards, so not too surprising. Too many in my view, but he was pretty good. Even handed in how he called the fouls. Clearly warned players about their behavior.

Oh, the TUDN announcers thought the red card on Wondo was a bit much too. Still, I’d rather the ref was overzealous in dishing out the cards, than too reticent which can lead to a violent game.

    Go Quakesfans!!

A lot to be pleased with, although the opposition was pretty weak. Cowell really shines as the game wore on, if he’s going to continue to start though, I feel like a lot of our success is going to hinge on getting him more involved, he’s been pretty invisible the first half of the last two games. Espinoza put his head down and dribbled a bit too much for my liking, he’s so much better when he’s linking with our other attacking players. Chofis showed a slight improvement over his first game, hopefully he’s starting to adapt to the pace of play in MLS. I thought Fierro worked very hard on both sides of the ball as well. Flo was a bit suspect at times, Alanis bailed him out a bit, we’ve gotta figure out how to play out of the back better, a better team would have torched us for some of those mistakes

Maybe we were watching a different game but to me Remedi had a very good game. He was simply everywhere and I'm pretty sure his heat map would confirm that.
To me, over the past two games, JY has been atrocious. I have never seen so many misplaced passes from him like in these past two games. Remedi has shown that he is adept with the ball at his feet plus shows defensive hustle and great work rate but his upfield passing is lacking thus I would like to see a Remedi-Judson double pivot with JY ahead of them in Chofis' role.

Chofis, albeit being better today, is clearly still getting acclimated to the league but he's getting manhandled out there and provides no benefit to our game as of yet. To me, he would be much more effective as a sub off the bench than a starter.

Those are frustrating reds but intent is not part of the equation. He clearly endangered the safety of the opponent. Wondo never gives up on plays and unfortunately in this case the defender doing something unexpected led to the red. I was watching on twitter which had the TUDN logo on the screen, but I'm not sure if those were the same TUDN announcers. The ones I heard were highly uncertain. They said something to the effect that every time they looked at it they changed their mind. That said, announcers are rarely any better than two drunk guys at a bar in these type of situations. After going to replay, the referee would have had an extremely hard time explaining himself if he didn't give the red.

I'm not sure what that means but it sounds wholesome, and we won, so it's all good.

I thought Remedi was good today. Yuell was still battling hard late in the game. Goals from Espinoza (particularly in light of his missed PK) and Cade were excellent. Chofis was a little better than last game, quick, tight passes creating some space, not at all fat really so I think we need to rethink that. omg that clearance off the line by Fierro...field looked great, even got to say hi to Frank Yallop. Excellent day at the park, said I would be happy if Quakes split the first two to start the season so no complaints from me.
