Thanks. I thought I saw someplace someone claiming he was moving "for sure" but I easily could be misremembering. I don't see much on the rumor mill since that flurry back in last March.
Hoping he gets the last few matches to combine with Huntelaar. There's potentially a few goals there.
People are too negative on Hoppe around here. He is good enough to play for Leipzig, imo, and would be a good fit with their style.
Hv to hope he doesnt end up hop-scotching around a batch of bad teams. With his style I think he could play in Spain or Italy but I expect BL knows that and will want to keep him in BL. Edit: Like @Suyuntuy says, they are protecting him because they know he has sell on potential. Suy got a little excited and overreached on the 9 figure price. Hoppe will not be playing for RM in any case.
You can understand feeling like you have to use the vet when you have a shot at staying up, but now that they don't have a chance it would be odd to not play him.
The Schalke team was attacked by the fans last night when they returned from the 0-1 loss away to Bielefeld that sealed their relegation. Players were hunted, kicked and punched. Some of their cars were demolished.https://t.co/q6TdizpYi4— Stefan Buczko (@StefanBuczko) April 21, 2021 its hard to argue that some of these players havent enormously underperformed, but still jarring
well they had him on an island so many matches and never once gavee him a chance with a two forward system. shows how stupid and short sighted they are. He would be better off somewhere else than where they are headed.
Time for Hoppe to bolt. Schalke seems like a sinking ship and he doesn’t need to stay on board. Sucks, because I’ve always liked Schalke. But they’re going to have to completely rebuild.
I would probably think twice about signing with a second division club whose fans chase down and assault the players en masse when they underperform. Good luck with your promotion efforts next season.
Huntelaar with 1 goal in 374 minutes. Schalke with 0.37 points/game. Hoppe with 5 goals in 1,081 minutes (goal every 216 minutes). Schalke with 0.5 points/game. Neither stellar, and the main takeaway is that Schalke sucks no matter who is up top, but seems like you play the youngster since Huntelaar has not been an improvement (and has actually been worse statistically).
Either we have some of the most unlucky players in the world regarding unfair situations on their teams or some of our fans overrate our players.
I like Hoppe and hope he gets to a team with better service (same for Sargent) but am wondering if there is a Real Madrid in Ecuador or Bolivia that this is in reference to like the Barcelona over there.
