DC just gave permission to DC United to up their in person attendance to 25% (about 5000 fans). Will be interesting to see if the team takes advantage of this for the 17th, or if they'll wait til the May homestand to implement. Nationals also get a bump to 25%; Caps and Wizards finally get fans at 10% capacity. NEWS: D.C. has approved waivers to host fans at Capital One Arena for Wizards and Capitals games, effective immediately. Additionally, the Nationals and D.C. United will now be able to host fans at 25% capacity at Nats Park and Audi Field. Story tk. pic.twitter.com/ADikZVRI5Q— Michael Brice-Saddler (@TheArtist_MBS) April 9, 2021
Today’s match against FTRB ended 1-1. Sorga scored in the first half and a penalty was converted by FTRB in the second. Season starts next week.
Got an email last night from DCU -- 3000 more seats available for 4/17. So those who didn't get in on the first shot may be in luck. I've asked my rep if it's possible to switch seats previously selected if "better" ones are available. Awaiting an answer.
I’m just got a notification from my ticket rep that the District has approved going up to 25% capacity, so there should be more tickets available now.
Thanks. We've been pretty well on top of those things and we've got our son's neurologist's office trying to pull some strings for both the kids since my son's at risk with some genetic markers for inflammation which leads to multi-inflammatory syndrome that the kids who have had problems with covid have at least some ties to. And I think we'd be reticent to go with J&J having seen a 3rd state pull it from the market.
I thought the J&J issues were scarcity related. It does appear that Pfizer will be approved for 12-15 before summer.
GA/NC/CO have all shut down its use according to this article. https://fox8.com/news/coronavirus/g...hut-down-johnson-johnson-vaccine-site-report/ I am not sure its anything super bad, but like WTF else can go wrong here?
Big news on the TV front, as DC United returns to NBC Sports Washington. A Spanish language TV deal is included. DCU also signs with TeleXitos, Telemundo’s multicast network. Both deals are 2 years. NBCSW has scheduling conflicts with Caps & Wizards, so some matches, such as Saturday opener, will appear on NBCSW+. Dave Johnson (English), Moises Linares (Spanish) will handle play by play.— Steven Goff (@SoccerInsider) April 12, 2021
Hell yes, missed watching matches on ol' Comcast Sports Ne..err I mean NBC Sports Washington. WJLA/Sinclair can take a hike for all I care. Things are looking up.
Thanks. This is GREAT news. More: D.C. United Games to Be Presented on NBC Sports Washington, TeleXitos "The schedule begins on Saturday when D.C. United opens the season against NYC FC at 8 p.m., which will be on NBC Sports Washington Plus and TeleXitos, which is available in the Washington, D.C., region on broadcast via channel 44.2 and on Comcast Xfinity (Ch. 281), Cox (Ch. 808) and Verizon Fios (Ch. 493). The games will also be available for streaming on D.C. United’s website." Story on NBCWashington.com: https://bit.ly/2Ryj1hH
While the quality of the broadcast was not the best, nor easy to receive for fans farther away, I'm thankful that Sinclair filled the void left by FloSports.
When I got jabbed (both times) you could either sit in a holding area for 15 minutes or "promise" to sit in your car in the parking lot for 15. Some people do get adverse reactions, they also get them from flu shots, DPT/pertussis and whatever as well. I notice the report is from FOX and doesn't say what the adverse reactions are other than an implication that some folks felt faint. Not exactly the blood clot issues with AstraZeneca. J&J's problems may be related to tthe lab in Baltimore which has effed up a number of batches of J&J vaccine.

Also, waiting on team confirmation of this one, but looks like Dave Kasper is no longer GM at DC United. BREAKING: @dcunited is hiring Lucy Rushton as its general manager, making her league's first female GM and second in major U.S. sports after @Marlins Kim Ng pic.twitter.com/TJVUb8z5Cw— Sportico (@Sportico) April 12, 2021 As per this story, Kasper is becoming United's new president of soccer operations.
Spring cleaning in full effect. More big news out of #DCU's front office: Sam Porter, the club's chief strategy officer, has been moved on from that role, multiple sources tell me. The club will retain his services in a consulting role but he'll no longer be involved in the day-to-day operations of the club.— Pablo Iglesias Maurer (@MLSist) April 12, 2021
