Where these the same people that argued we didn’t need any of the euro-based “divas” in the World Cup because of how they struggled in 2013-2014?
Actually no. They might be the worst offenders of it all and yet because they are funny, dumb people buy it even worse.
Plus in Mexico everything related to sports by Televisa is bashed and rididculed while TV Azteca has more "credibility" among Liga MX fans.
dumb there is no England Olympics due to it being Great Britain at Olympics aka issues. europe qualification not easy in past 2 u21, only 3 groups in GS in U21 Euro and only top team of each group+best 2nd place team from all 3 groups make SF and that's what qualifies countries. Belgium and Italy same group as Spain and only Spain made it out of group as Winners. Even qualification, not easy at time, only group winners.....and then best 4 2nd place go and play playoff for only 2 spots. Past U21=only top team in groups get rewarded. guy should learn things 1st and USA wouldn't qualify for any U21 Euro, LMAO.
The thing is Mexico 🇲🇽 is at its max potential, there is no more growth for soccer in the country, it is already as popular as it gets. In the US 🇺🇸 it is no where near how big it can get. That should scare el tri fans for the long term !— Tactical Manager (@ManagerTactical) April 9, 2021
The same old same old. We've been hearing this since the early 00s. US domination in soccer is inevitable and only a matter of time. A couple of points I've noticed about the US fans over the years. 1. They really underestimate the quality of the Mexican League. They are always surprised to see Liga Mx types go toe to toe against them or other European teams. 2. They aren't very critical with their players and defend them to death even when they dip in form or play badly. 3. They seem to think that they are the only country that is improving or has interesting young players. The US absolutely has some interesting players. However, they make it seem like Dest or Pulisic are the equivalent of Häland or Mbappé. Most of their European talent has potential but thats about it. Other than Pulisic at end of last season no US player has had that huge of an impact on their team. Yes, a few are starters and are good role players but they really don't go beyond that. Now the media is another story. Most English and Spanish media treat the US with kid gloves. They hyped them up after they beat the Netherlands and Germany in friendlies in 2015 but didn't say much after they crashed out against Jamaica in the Gold Cup. Hell, just look at how dismissive the US team and media was going into the Trinidad and Tobago game, a team that was about 10 minutes away from getting a tie with Mexico. Now the media is doing the same because the US best a far from full strength Jamica. With an improving Jamaica and Canada I could see this US team having some missteps in the WCQs. They are young, haven't played much together and are one or two key injuries or suspensions from having a dicey qualification.
The guy sounds like a moron. Popular =/= resources or production It’s also antiquated that they keep trying to hide behind the excuse that it’s not popular in the US despite the enormous amount of soccer being played, games attended, and tv views he provides no example of his claim either. Just a sweeping statement...
A Mexican calling Sergino Dest bad.. what’s new lmao https://t.co/s6AGijUQfW— Takes 🇺🇸 (@USMNTTAKES) April 10, 2021
Mexicans criticize their players all the time. And well admitted Tecatito fid badly against Chelsea. However, God forbid you criticize a US player on Twitter or Reddit or you will get absolutely dog piled on. Most Barcelona fans have been very lukewarm to Dest.
Mexico had their little "up and coming" players like Roberto Alvarado and JJ Macias with their u23 national team, so they got to the OlympicsMeanwhile, the best u23 MLS players are getting sold to Europe and lighting it up on bigger stages. There's just levels to this, man. pic.twitter.com/iv6YxckSDz— MLS Buzz (@MLS_Buzz) April 11, 2021
