    Statement goal by La Joya.

Really liking Lautaro. He's not Kun but he scores timely goals is very clutch. Captain material.

I think Lautaro could get there but Lukaku is in fact a beast. He has to play off him. Until he becomes top-dog, it will be difficult for him to reach his maximum potential.

While he is not like Kun, I remember reading somewhere a couple years back where somebody compared him to the El Tigre aka Falcao. While Lautaro isn’t that big, he has a threat in the air like the Colombian. Right foot-left foot, it doesn’t matter, he’ll score.

But Lautaro does it for us and scores frequently.

The difference between having someone like Lukaku and CR is that, one help to provides for his teammates while the other one only play for himself to stats padding.

Dybala is actually one goal away from reaching 100 goals at Juve, would have been at least close to 150 if playing alongside Messi instead of CR.

Lautaro not only scores regularly in NT, but he had won like 5 or 6 penalties which converted by Messi & Paredes. Its important to have someone who constantly threatening near/inside the box by winning fouls even if not scoring.

For whatever reason I dont remember Kun or Fatso winning lots of penalties.

Thats a good comparison. My only wish is for him to improve his link up play. At times you see the play die from a poor touch he had. He also could improve in front of goal. However, he's like the anti fatso. Instead of racking up meaningless goals and disappearing when the chips are down, he's right there time and time again. He's also hardly ever out with an injury unlike Kun.

Di Maria provided the winning assist against Bayern Munich and is now only 3 assists away from matching Messi in the Champions League. He’s third on the all-time list.

I know that his international career has been a flop, but it’s hard to deny that based on club career, he’s one of the best wingers Argentina have ever produced.

Copa America finishes July 11 and the Tokyo Olympics start July 23. I don't know if players that participate in the Copa will be able to make it to the Olympics.

Right now, Batista is saying guys like Lautaro, Foyth, Exequiel Palacios and Lisandro Martinez are all being considered for the Olympic team; not sure how that can happen if these guys play in Copa America.

IMO, AFA needs to go all out and make winning the Copa a priority. We've won enough youth trophies in the last 30 years (5 U-20 WC and 2 Olympic Golds) but no senior side championships.

In 04, we had a few players that participated in both tournaments. It can be done but will it happen again? I doubt it. I just hope Batista doesn’t pull a Tata when in 2016 he didn’t call up Dybala to the CAC because he thought he was going to take him to the Olympics. Amateur hour on his part.

Lmaoo Ascacibar what a strike. Even though a slight deflection. Hope that boosts his confidence. Big talent

Well, since Olympic is U23 tournament (except few players), I dont see why these youngster shouldnt or couldnt go for both tournaments. Youngster should play as many games as they could.

Didnt catch today’s match. But Romero subbed at half time. Could be because he picked up a yellow and they were up 2-0. They went on to win 3-2. Damn that kid is a pillar at the back end. Literally massive.

Apparently that yellow will make him miss the Coppa Italia final v Juve. I didn’t know they were connected. Strange rule and a damn shame he’ll miss the final. A load of shit if you ask me.

I hate LoCelso at Tottenham. He moved to Betis and started to kill it, was transfer to Tottenham and has been sharing bench time with Lamela since.

Not really he starts most of the time. Just needs to stay healthy. I hate how he’s used by that overrated manager.

    palacios starts again. Nice

Say what you will about him, but the kid's got balls and personality. He's building his character and gaining more and more confidence as time passes...

Btw, he's now 4/4 for penalties taken/converted... not bad for a defender.

He also had an assist in that game.

Not sure if he can be considered as a flop, he was injured for Copa 2015 final and WC 2014 final. The team actually flopped in attack after he was subbed out against Belgium. He won everyting at youth level including winning goal in Olympics final. He carried the team in first 2 games in 2016 Copa before Messi returned, and off course he's injured again. Also scored one of best WC 2018 goal against eventual winner.

His scoring and assist ratio in NT are the same as in club level.

Just what we need, a RB who scores no-look penalties! That solves our defensive problems!

Montiel has drastically increased his level last few months, must I admit. Is it enough for high international level? don't know.

    Increasing stocks for the copa:
-Palacios - Playing again thanks to new coach
-Romero - would like to think there is no way he doesn't make the list at this point.
    -Montiel - See above
-Acuña - surprisingly good season for Sevilla
-Otamendi - his place was never in doubt for the joven inexperto but he's been solid for Benfica for a while already

    Decreasing stocks:
-Ocampos - Back to being the mediocre player he was all his career.
    - Aguero - horrendous level, but will still make it because of name.
-Nico Gonzalez - Injury after injury even though he's good whenever he's healthy.
-Dominguez - Can't start or produce anything significant for freaking Bologna.
-Mac Allister - Can't seem to earn a place in the starting XI for freaking Brighton.
    - M. Quarta - Shaky, understandable since it's his 1st season in Europe but he's light years away from Romero, Medina, Senesi, Martinez, etc.
    - Pezzella - Absolutely woeful, with any rational coach he CAN'T make the copa squad.

Last season, most of our attacking players were on fire. However, Romero and some of the defensive players had a bit of a bad year. On the flip side there has been quite an improvement in the defense this year. Now, it just depends if Scaloni has the balls to use them.

I’m kinda worried about not scoring goals to be honest. Our attacking players have clearly had a dip in form.

I think you’re being a bit harsh on Chino. Wasn’t he Viola’s player of the month, just last month? I know he didn’t play well the last game but every defender has those days.

Yeah, Lucas has been solid for fio. He wanted his starting position for a few months now. There’s absolutely zero reason to bring the walking disaster otamendi. Argentina has at least 5 cbs better atm
