I think you're still in with a slim chance but you're going to need Coventry and us to be absolutely hopeless from now until the rest of the season, which is not beyond the realm of possibility. We have a few games in hand but injuries and suspensions (we already have Wood suspended) could tank us. You're going to want us to beat Coventry and lose everything else pretty much. See what happens with today's results...
Just think Wycombe could be above you by the time you kick off which is probably a good thing though...
Less than an hour in?! You've not been paying attention, Myshoe. This one has 3-3 written all over it.
I only saw the second half yesterday, so it's easy to make too much of it when you're already up three. That said, everything I've read says that they were just as good in the first half, so ... Anyway, that scoreline is in no way misleading. Wednesday were really that good. Flowing in attack. Stroking it around confidently at the back, even while being pressed. Bannan was incredible, from what I saw, and by all accounts, throughout the whole game. It was the kind of showing that - when considering that it's actually possible - pisses one off at the 38 performances that preceded it. If they can play anywhere near that well at QPR come Saturday, there could be some excitement yet to come. But ya just can't envision it, can ya?
You're not wrong. There's no way they'll match yesterday's performance again this season. Lose at Loftus Road (as I suspect they will) and they're down. Still, they were brilliant v Cardiff. None of the goals was flukey or fortuitous; and a couple (the second and fourth) were really lovely football. And the movement off the ball was exceptional - all over the pitch. Really, really nice stuff. And it'll probably all mean nothing come Saturday ... which is why I'm enjoying that one all the way until then.
No, I mean QPR weren't that good. I'm not saying Wednesday deserved anything from it, but they weren't three goals worse.
I understood. i'm just carrying over my statement from our last win, 5-0, that they weren't fooling me.
You lost 2-0 hosting Swansea. You're in the relegation zone by 7 points with 5 games left. Rotherham has 4 games in hand including their game in progress, and Coventry has 1 game in hand. Rotherham hosts Coventry on Thursday. Winning 4 games may not be enough.
They're down. It's been all but inevitable for weeks. The QPR loss pretty much sealed it; but even if they'd gotten something there, it'd still be mostly hope and prayer. They're one of the three worst teams in the Championship - easily - whatever their roster looks like. They're going down.
