Football is so dramatic. One week Boateng is being treated with a lack of respect, next week he's a loser, a week later something else.

Now it's Flick catching heat on social media.

Talking good English is usually a disadvantage for a Liverpool player so that's a positive for Madrid in case of a transfer.

Ya, I thought he did really well, confident but not arrogant. He was charismatic, spoke well, he came across as more mature than his age.

Atletico is done this weekend, the title is gone and I have come to term of peace on it. ZERO shame in lose to Real Madrid, but hate to lose it to Barca.
Plus we don't deserve the title anyways due to we BOTTLE a 10 pts lead.

Weekend game Atleti will miss 3 players, most important is missing Lorrente and Suarez (the main goal scorers). Thanks to Lorente racking up yellow cards, now he banned a match. Suarez is injured and will be out 3 weeks.

    It over tbh.

oh well never easy to be an Atletico supporter. Another year of nothing, again.

Saw a lot of posts blaming him for not being concrete about his future plans. I think a lot of the football Fandom on social media, regardless of what club they support are absolute idiots though.

Same people obsessed with Ronaldo, dragging down Odegaard and whatever. Pretty damn strange.

Atletico almost dropped all the way down to the Segunda B not that long ago, and we have to read that stuff here almost every day.

"I like Atletico but they are so bad so go Madrid, but also go Ronaldo and blah blah blah" mama Mia. This is a golden era for Atletico, it's legitimately insane to me to see people complaining about the club, this was a nationwide joke of a club for an eternity.

This one is my favorite, the son asks "Papa, why are we Atleti supporters?"

And the father can't explain it. That's how much they used to suck. It was a matter of pride to support the less fortunate Madrid club.

Really can't here all the complaining and nonsense. Can't take somebody call him/herself a serious Atleti fan and complain about the club right now.

Just smells like supporting a club cause it's fashionable but deep down you'd like to root for somebody else.

No problem bro. It's totally a twitter-esque hot take.

Hazard is definitely the worst transfer we've ever had and one of the worst in footballing history. No doubts there.

I don’t post much but read a lot and the Buffonfan guy is just about the least troll troll ever and I respect his opinion, as weird as it is, more than fierros, and some other “die hard RM fans” who just hate.

Also, saying your an athletico fan and rooting for RM is so strange and normally pathetic, that this buffonfan guy kinda won me over as I truly believe his weird outlook on fandom. Yeah so he likes being the martyr a bit. But you still sound kinda bitter.
never in my life would I root for atlético but not gonna bash the atlético fan who roots for RM.

She is kind of new to football ( according to her ) so it’s understandable that she isn’t caught up in all these rivalries stuff.

so basically she is a neutral who likes both Madrid teams and has a positive attitude towards our team (and talks about her team on the “other teams” thread and comments positive stuff about this team on a normal basis. Yeah, just a normal human being not projecting her personal shit on a soccer forum. Not to many of those around here (my self included sometimes)

People think you have to root for a team to care for a sport which is absolutely absurd to me. You don't need a feeling of belonging to enjoy a sport.

If you're saying "I'm an Atletico fan" then post in the Atletico forums and engage with the history of the club.

This kind of wishy washy yes but no, but also aaaargh thing is mega annoying because you have to skip massive blocks of pointless text when you read here.

There's plenty to like about Atleti, but winning isn't one of the main ingredients of the recipe. To read so much complaining about Atleti not winning feels to me like somebody didn't understand what rooting for Atleti means in the first place. The club itself positioned itself as the option of rebellion.

ok, not gonna change your mind. Wasn’t even my intention. Just personally quite dislike people who constantly bash on RM (it’s also one of our golden eras by the way) and we have many many of those here. So it’s quite refreshing to either read someone like buffonfan. Also, it’s always nice to read someone bash on AM since half the world is constantly prasing that excuse of a team.

I agree with you, but it must be frustrating as a fan to seem so close to winning but then revert to good old Pathetico we all know and love. I mean, they are still the league leaders and its all in their hands, but chokers gonna choke.

Yep, I like soccer and I don't really have a favorite team where I have to like spend 200% of my time defending them or worship them or lick the ground they walk on.

I do spend time in Atletico forum the Reddit sub, I posted there. It somewhat a mess in there right now, since they crash out against Chelsea, they fighting in there to sack Simeone Lol. I don't know Spanish so there no other place for me to talk about Atletico, I need an English speaking Atleti fan place.

I always been an international soccer fan watching World Cup EUROCup, etc... and I began to watch 'league' soccer few years ago. Don't really have a favorite team, Italy I like Juventus. PL I like Man City. La Liga, I like Atletico due to I always been a fan of defense style football.

I root for Real Madrid after Atletico because both teams are from Madrid, and I like Modric (since I follow him in his international Croatia career).
Hate Barca because I love CR7 and dislike Messi.

I criticize Atleti because I don't like to sugarcoat myself, I see them as how they perform, truth is they bottle a 10 pts lead. Their squad depth is limited, they also constantly selling and loans out players to help pay their club bills. How is that any heplp when they want to win both league and CL?
    ......
As for they not have Lorrente and Suarez (due to injure), this will drop their chance significantly, and they still have 9 games left, how can they win all 9 games with their depleted squad? Missing two key players, and a squad with average tallents.

Atletico still is my favorite team in La Liga, regardless hell even if they drop out of top 4. Just looking at the situation as how it is, being positive is a good thing, but you also need to look at the reality of your team squad dept and your team performance, you know you just got to know to stay in you lane.

I don't think right now as in 'right now' Atletico is the golden ra

That was back then when they still have Gieezman and a fit Costa and when they won the league.

Ateti right now? lol no. They BOTTLE a 10+ pts lead at one pt in the league. Look at their performance against Chelsea?

    nuuuuu not golden era.

Yep. Perhaps I don't get the rilvary but imo when the other team even if they are your rival doing better than you, you just have to accept that fact.

I really like Atleti, but the truth is they gonna have a hard hard time win the league, let alone win the CL.
Simeone is a good coach, but their squad has average tallent. Further won't help when they every year they sell their players and/or put their players out on loans. That further reduce their squad dept for competitions.

They were once have a 10 pts lead, they throw all that away. How can one expect me to still be confident that they bottle that big of a gap, plus they still have 9 more games (which they have to win ALL 9 games in order to win the league).
..... which bring me to the next point.

Next game, Lorrente is out due to he racking up yellows, Suarez is out for 3 weeks due to injury. That there go their main goal scorers.

Even after Betiz Lorrente came back, but Suarez is out 3 weeks. Plus they have show they bottle 10 pts lead. What make me think they capable of win ALL 9 remaining games?

I said this to Atleti fans despite this piss the hell out ofthem. I told them start of of win the Deby against Real first, before dreaming of win the league, let alone win both league and CL.

The last time Atleti beat Real in derby was 7-8 years ago, that is long overdue don't you think. Real must be Atleti kryptonite since their "mentality" in derby they just can't win for some reason. Start with that first, get that 'mentality' fix. Prove that you can win the derby.

And look at their performance in CL against chelsea. They deserve to crash out.
Bottle 10 pts lead in La Liga? They don't deserve to win the title.
Look at how their team play against chelsea, that is not a wining mentality team.

Even if Atletico drop out of top 4, or hell even relegate they still my favorite team in la Liga. But that doesn't mean I have to kiss their as-s and not allow to criticize them? I look at their squad dept, their team performance, etc.... why do I have to kiss their butt?

And there are Atletico fans out there who piss off as hell to the point they want Simeone head (after that chelsea crash out). There a whole thread on it in Reddit Atleti sub.
I myself will support Simeone (so I don't agree with those atleti fans). But this Atleti team need like a fire rocket put up their butt to get going, lol.

I just really don't see how they goonna win the 9 remaining matches left, that all. And I have come to term of peace on it that it will be another year of nothing for Atleti. Its okay, next year we try again.

If you took those people away, many of us old timers will literally have no reason to exist other than to argue with each other over something that happened 10 years ago.

Speaking of old shit, who wants to argue about Gravesen vs. Emerson vs. Pablo Garcia again?

4x4s is sometimes wrong but he is actually right on here. There was a time when Atletico would finish like 10th three years in a row and we would all lol at the difference between playing the Rojiblancos vs. playing three traffic cones.
