I look at the US pool and don’t see anyone close to having Aaronson’s level of creative ability/vision (at his relative level of technical skill). That alone makes him stand out. But on top of that he’s got maybe the strongest work rate and motor of any guy in the group. Top all of that off with his ability to make impressively quick decisions and keep the ball moving. I think he’s going to be a game changer for us.
I agree 100% Recently, I saw on ESPN FC article about the USMNT and predicting who will make the final 23 for the World Cup. Aaronson did NOT make their 23. I could not help but think - people like this are the type of people who piss all over the seat in public restrooms.
Patson Daka on Aaronson He makes magic happen with those feet. Cross was definitely superb🙌🏾 https://t.co/IdyKVegcW1— Patson Daka (@PatsonDaka20) April 5, 2021
Dike can't stop scoring. Two so far today. DEE-KAY SCORES AGAIN!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥 pic.twitter.com/RBLWfopdLT— Barnsley FC (@BarnsleyFC) April 5, 2021
That game is over. Barnsley 2 Luton 1 Dike had a chance for a hat-trick from the penalty spot, but the keeper apparently made a great save. He now has 7 goals in 13 games........................

There's a lot of good one could say about Aaronson's assist and nothing wrong. That is the play Sargent has to start working on; ofc, he wouldn't have anybody to pass to at Bremen in similar situations which might be why he doesn't exhibit that skill.
Note: Dortmund's loss this weekend puts John Brooks and Wolfsburg in a commanding position for a Champions League spot next season. They're also only 3 points behind Tyler Adams and Leipzig. Bayern 64 points Leipzig 57 points Wolfsburg 54 points Frankfurt 50 points Dortmund 43 points Note that Americans have been on the rosters of all 5 clubs: Richards, Adams, Brooks, Chandler, and Reyna. Richards is on loan at Hoffenheim now, and Chandler hasn't played all that much. Still....................5 USMNTers.
Man this never gets old. Also, the first time I watched that video I had to watch it 3-4 times before I figured out how the heck Aaronson was videotaped coming *out* of the celebration huddle with his teammates when I never saw him go into it .
In much more boring news, a 20 year old started and went '86 for Barca, who are suddenly odds on favorite to win La Liga and have a massive El Classico in 5 days time. Konrad was also on the bench again. Barca was terrible today, but Dest was fantastic defensively and should have drawn a penalty early on.
Dike's performance is a reminder of why we shouldn't ---- all over say, Cannon sucking against Jamaica, or Acosta for having a nightmarish hell on earth debacle against Northern Ireland. Anything can happen in a small window, and Dike stunk it up late in the year in a half hour or whatever sub appearance, drastic conclusions were made, including by myself, which pushed Dike into say, 4th-6th in my forward group due to small sample size from his one MLS partial season and an uninspiring performance as a sub. Now you get a bigger window in '21, and boom the guy is defenestrating the entire 2nd division of English Soccer's defensive core's on a weekly and even twice a week basis. He's my 1B to Sargent, but at this point, I'd be fine w/splitting starting gigs, or splitting games between them since they have such distinctly separate games (and Dike as a second half guy, good lord). It's still a small window of games, January-April for Championship, and August-November MLS or whatever, but who cares, it's kind of obvious that he's got a lethal shot and is already developing a fabulous target game when it comes to heading balls to teammates, pulling defenders a way, finishing chances and on and on, he's a special talent, and good lord, it's just suddenly erupted from out of nowhere. Love his attitude too. I can only imagine what Barnsley fans are thinking, fairydust in their heads, but the chances of retaining him almost zero, long term. Brutal, but enjoy the ride kind of thing. Super excited for him, I have no idea what he can become but I'm damn exciting by what he's doing. excited he'll get the Swiss match, but man, I'd love a match against Germany, Brazil or England, Spain, Italy or Netherlands assuming their stud CB is healthy, I would love, love, love to see him matched with an elite group of defenders and see what he can do against them, if he's still a major handful.
Dike is a target man in a hoofball scenario, which is perfect for his talents. It's unlikely that he'll come across those tactics in MLS or for the MNT.
I don't disagree, but if you have a target striker who is good at "hoof and hope" and you need a goal in the last 10 minutes, it's definitely not a terrible option to have.
Cannon I agree with you on but Acosta sucks. Not sure how you do not see this. You need to watch more games.
