Sergio Oliveira is a hilarious choice, my God. Everything else is fine, hopefully Jota is sharper with a weeks extra practice, he was pretty rusty for Liverpool after returning from injury..to be expected. Cedric was a Santos choice, more experienced and secure defensively..and he has performed well at LB for Arsenal when he was played there...I expected that choice.
I just disagree with with how cautious we play, Danilo is more than enough, Bruno Fernandes and Bernardo Silva both play more central midfield roles for their clubs, which would allow us to start a pure striker like Andre Silva to provide more space for Ronaldo, or Felix. And while Sergio Oliveira has been playing well, he's not Sanches who again has been one of the top players in Ligue 1 this season, or even Neves who has more to his repertoire. Just such a meh option. Hopefully he proves me wrong.
Agree. Oliveira has been good for Porto, but a little inconsistent. Same thing today. He's not playing well, and he didn't do much with limited touches against Azerbaijan.
Bernardo silva has been man of the match. Whenever he moves to midfield things happen it’s so clear. Danilo was brutal . Ronaldo was shit he’s done. And he again takes all the free kicks. Take him out for Felix
Great counter attack goal has to be said. So many garbage players here though. Fonte? Sergio Oliveira? Danilo?
I love Fernando Santos and appreciate everything he has done for Portugal, but the firepower this team has will never be unleashed while he's still here.
I know y’all have too much pride to admit it but Bruno is trash for Portugal. Has he ever played a good game for us??
An inexcusably bad second-half performance for the second time in four days. Portugal has whatever is the opposite of a "killer" mentality. It is nuts how they can ease their way to 2-0 in one half and look totally shaken the next.
