That sure was a massive and sudden decline! Leverkusen were unbeaten and poised for a title challenge back in December IIRC. Still, Leverkusen is sixth in the table, with only a handful points behind the fourth place (though not too many league matches left to play). Other head coaches remain on the job with worse results. I was following Leverkusen closlely while keeping tabs on the dutchmen there and it all started to spiral downwards for bosz after the injury to their no 1 stopper Lukáš Hrádecký just before the first leg europa clash vs Young Boys where they wont down 4 -3. the back up stoppers were horrendous making costly blunders that resulted in conceding goals and at the same time denting the teams effort up front. Bosz had no choice but to rotate all the three back up stoppers but all were not up to par as Hrádecký. otherwise the team was ok. mensah injury was a setback otherwise it was business as usual for bosz.
So you're basically saying the board sacked Bosz for their own incompetence to provide a reasonable bench.
