Huh, never thought (duh) to try another way in. Maybe it's a browser thing. I'll poke around a bit more. Thank you!
This site says a guy named Moussa Diarra at a club in Guadeloupe is American. http://www.playmakerstats.com/player_results.php?id=843975&epoca_id=150&equipa_id=29080 There's an American of the same name who was apparently part of NYCFC's academy, but this doesn't seem to be that guy. This Diarra played college soccer and appears to have come through Montverde via Mali. He might be American, but I haven't located the clear connection yet. https://planetesportsmali.com/foot-guadeloupe-moussa-diarra-decisif-encore/ https://cofcsports.com/sports/mens-soccer/roster/moussa-diarra/3794
Transfermarkt and multiple other databases list a September '03 named Michael Wyparlo as born in New York. He has recently been listed with the first team of Stal Mielec in Poland and apparently was the top scorer for one of their youth teams in the fall. Some databases refer to him as a central midfielder, but he is likely a striker/winger based on # and match action photos. Two databases list him at 1.90 meters (about 6-2 or 6-3). His father seems to be former Poland international keeper Boguslaw Wyparlo. He posted US/Poland dual flag emojis in a recent Instagram post and is most likely US-eligible. https://www.transfermarkt.us/michael-wyparlo/profil/spieler/858521
I had a post around him a few days ago. Not much to add about what you wrote except that generally I consider the 90minut site pretty reliable, for what that's worth. https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/t...-a-yank-detective-work-thread.1987805/page-40
If I got on your case about a post that missed something I'd written a few posts earlier I'd invalidate about a third of my own posts. I'd better stay quiet.
This site for SA10 had Aguilera as Mexican-American and at Velez in 2020. However, I can't easily find mention of him being there currently. https://sa10soccermanagement.com/ernesto-augilera
According to this article (behind a paywall) Wyparło is in fact a midfielder. This article (on his father) probably reveals more but like I said....... paywall.
This seems to be the same guy who is apparently now with a lower-division Spanish club. The La Preferente site seems pretty reliable. https://www.lapreferente.com/J349976C3368/cd-marino/faris-abdel.html
American or not, there's still very little about him online that I can easily find under that name. There's a site that indicates a move to a Montenegrin third-division club called Otrant. https://fscg.me/en/players/elvin-marisenovic-104642/
Status: Hoping an English club I just emailed responds to my question about some confusing data regarding a player listed on its web site who they may have mistakenly labeled as American. (This is usually where @Balerion comes in and mentions Romone Rose.)
It's certainly possible that Ben Conway, of Atherton Collieries FC, is American, as he is identified on at least one database site, but my guess is that it's a case of him being a guy who was misidentified because he played collegiately in the U.S. That would be a shame, as I'd love to have a Yank playing at Atherton Collieries FC, for what I assume are obvious reasons.
At least one database site says an '00 named Noah Sanchez at a lower-division French club called Cannet Rocheville is also an American who played in the DA. I guess I'm not 100% sure, but I'm pretty certain this is a case of mistaken identity.
PMS says an '01 named Andrés Ojeda with a Venezuelan club is Venezuelan-American. https://www.playmakerstats.com/player.php?id=836659 The DA listed him as being Venezuelan, but with an American hometown, when he was with Orlando City. http://ocsc.ussoccerda.com/sam/teams/index.php?team=1401311&player=35214313 This video, which appears to be posted by a family member, says Venezuelan-American. It's probably safe to make a thread, but maybe I'll look into it a bit more first, or see if someone here knows anything.
This one is probably good to go, but I'll just log it here for now. There's a player at German lower-division club SV Schwetzingen named Kenan Hodzic: https://sv98schwetzingen.homepage.t-online.de/ A guy with that same name is from Connecticut and played at NCAA D3 WCSU in 2015 as a freshman, but seemingly did not return: https://westconnathletics.com/sports/mens-soccer/roster/kenan-hodzic/1941 T'Markt says it's the same guy, a BIH-American '00 who has been in Europe for a short while. https://www.transfermarkt.de/kenan-hodzic/profil/spieler/688225
This thread has been around longer than I realized! T'Markt says he moved to lower-division Greece in early 2018. https://www.transfermarkt.us/andrei-suciu/profil/spieler/322048
This story says the '01 Jhon James Pacheco is American-born. I haven't been able to confirm it and some database sites dispute that. His club's site is currently under construction. This athletic and robust midfielder has the ability to be a defensive lynchpin or a box-to-box gamechanger. Throughout 2021, expect Pacheco’s technique and ability on the ball to improve under new Head Coach Daniel Farrar. The American-born Paraguayan is known as Guardiolita for his footballing philosophies and Pacheco is sure to be a beneficiary of his methods. https://worldfootballindex.com/2021/04/10-venezuelan-wonderkids-to-watch-out-for-in-2021/ http://www.yaracuyanos.com/
As someone pointed out to me, I read the above wrong. The American is Daniel "Guardiolita" Farrar, the coach. Here's some info on him. I guess I should probably start a thread... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Farrar
Here's a site that says an '00 named Fabio Campos at a Portuguese club called Arcos is American. He was apparently at Braga as a young teen. http://www.playmakerstats.com/player.php?id=682252&epoca_id=0&search=1
An '01 named Julian Markvoort Beke says he's American (among other things) on his Instagram, which may be the source for Transfermarkt, which says the same thing. He is or was recently at at a club called Alphense Boys. https://www.instagram.com/julianmarkvoortbeke/?hl=en https://www.transfermarkt.de/julian-markvoort-beke/profil/spieler/730821
The BDFA site, which seems to specialize in South American players, can now be searched in useful ways. From here... https://bdfa.com.ar/buscar.asp? ... I'd suggest typing "USA" in the "Lugar de Nacimiento" box and then picking a country in the "Juego en" pulldown. There is probably a better way to do this -- some of the results are old and the "USA" goes in a text search box so there is some noise -- but it's a start, and the site has turned up some names over the years.
So I was just looking around and stumbled upon this article that claims that Zak Swanson from Arsenal was actually born in Florida. This would obviously make him eligible for the US if true, but unsure of how true the claim is as it goes between Florida and England depending on where you look. And continuing the theme recently, he is of course a right back. https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2020/06/08/report-america-born-teen-trains-with-arsenal-first-team/
Don't know if this one has been mentioned either, but t'markt claims Santiago Rodriguez is American and playing in the second division of Argentina https://www.transfermarkt.us/santiago-rodriguez/profil/spieler/439437
This one's probably not correct. If it's the guy I'm thinking of, this confusion was created because he was born in a place in Argentina called Arizona.
