Well, it's really not that surprising, since LBs rarely get subbed. I'd call him Mr. Thank-Goodness-we-finally-have-a-good-LB if I could find a way to abbreviate it.
And his catch phrase after a goal can be, “I’ll be your Honeysuckle.” See, that is a type of vine. Never mind.
His Grace, The Duke of Ankh, Commander Sir Samuel "Sam" Vines Also acceptable: Blackboard Monitor Vines Vines the Butcher/Butcher Vines Vetinari's (Fraser's) Terrier If you don't get the reference, you're a bad person and need to go read Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels STAT.
Lots of tidbits from Matt Pollard via twitter. You have to work through the thread to see all the info. One tweet states that the Rapids don't have plans on signing a #9 this summer. Padraig Smith #Rapids96 Pre-Season Media Availability Thread:— Matt Pollard (@LWOSMattPollard) March 5, 2021
The focus, transition, and reliance on youth means we are going to live and die by the youth. There's a part of me that is jumping up and down in excitement because I'm all about playing the kids and becoming a "selling" club. Then there's a part of me that's like ...do we have enough veteran presence and consistency to carry this team when the young players inevitably hit a dip in form? Is it enough to make a serious playoff run? I don't know the answers. We will just be patient to find out. I do know one thing..... for the first time in 5 years or so, I am genuinely excited for the season. There's no fear of being a cellar dweller. There's no fear of being a laughing stock. There will be eyes on this team and I just hope this group can rise to the challenge.
This was a great article. I also saw on Boehms Twitter, that teams in the UK went as far as finding out work permit eligibility for Vines, and because he is 21, not 20, that the permits were either denied or much harder to get. Certainly sounds like he might have gotten a loan/transfer deal otherwise this window.... Furthermore, Boehm reported on Twitter that Vines will be earning half-a-mil per year, putting him in the higher/highest paid category in the league for his position. (Which also gives the Rapids even more leverage in any future transfer calls) Good on ya, Vines!
New kit dropping on 3.23.2021: incoming pic.twitter.com/qgjArXBGaT— Colorado Rapids (@ColoradoRapids) March 9, 2021 While I’m happy that it’s finally coming (I heard rumors there’s gonna be some throwback elements to it, maybe even some green...), I think this is going to make us the last of the MLS teams to release this years edition Heck, Falcon and the Winter Soldier is being released before the jersey lol
Seems like many things are delayed this season. Speaking of throwback . . . last year I thought there was going to be a lot of retro gear to celebrate the 25th anniversary of MLS. I figured it didn't happen due to COVID related supply chain issues. Wonder if any was produced and will be available this summer.

Right. And don't hire some shady agent who is going to enter into some weird ass third party agreement. If I remember correctly, said agent was stripped of his FIFA licensing.
A couple of videos with Fleming interviewing Fraser and then Price. Nothing much new in them, but there were a couple of tidbits: Fraser states that the system will the same as last season with some tweaks. https://www.coloradorapids.com/post...eason-robin-fraser-march-9-2021?autoplay=true And in this one, Price gives his opinion that Oliver Larraz has made an impression and will be a good player. https://www.coloradorapids.com/post/2021/03/09/2021-preseason-jack-price-march-9-2021?autoplay=true And some video from training today: We keep grinding. pic.twitter.com/LTuiCLFM6P— Colorado Rapids (@ColoradoRapids) March 10, 2021
This deal gives the Rapids and Vines the opportunity to be patient and wait for the best move. As a left back with attacking skills and being just 21, I would think he'll tart to draw a lot more attention, especially if he plays in the Olympics and gets some other call ups with the Nats.
