He left the reserve, his place came, he got his payment late, it was not enough, he was out of the squad on the last day ... But he never created any difficulties. Tyler Boyd at Sivasspor.

Sivasspor currently sit in 14th place.

    Google Translation:
Demir Group Sivasspor reached an agreement with Beşiktaş to lease Tyler Boyd until the end of the 2020-2021 season. Tyler Boyd signed the contract with the participation of our Vice President Elahattin Akyüz in Istanbul. He will start working with the sports team that will come to Sivas tomorrow.

Hopefully he is out of there at the end of the season.

Hopefully Yedlin doesn't have a similar experience.

Yedlin won't. A six-season veteran of the EPL with 60+ US caps is a far more important signing for Galatasaray than Boyd was for Besiktas

Fair to say his NT chances are dusted?

I think Acosta and Cannon and a few others have proven you can work your way back in.

That said, Boyd had a ton of effectiveness against poor teams and was really lacking against any kind of quality. Just on brief national team play, he's likely behind Morris, Weah, Pulisic (obviously) and amazingly, Arriola. He's also probably behind a winger Reyna. I'd say that Konrad didn't do anything to outperform him, but if you are going to select based on who might... you have to take Konrad.

He's also more of a pure winger and less of an inside forward.

So he's sitting pretty far back on the depth chart from my eye, but it is possible that with play he will move right back up. Most of those guys are far from insurmountable.

Interesting comparison between Arriola and Tyler Boyd - who are two streaky wingers.

When he's on (like he was for 5 months at Ankaragucu), Boyd is electric and very dangerous. The problem is that when he's not, he disappears and doesn't have many ways to help his team. With him, it's boom or bust.

Arriola is also very good when he's on although probably not a good on the dribble as Boyd. The benefit Arriola has, however, is that he has more ways to help a team when his final ball isn't there. He doesn't disappear.

Around the time of the 2019 Gold Cup, I read a stat that Arriola covered significantly more ground than Boyd over 90 minutes. That's probably why Berhalter went with Arriola over Boyd in the Gold Cup final. Arriola tracks back very well, plays defense, blocks shots, wins the ball, covers for his fullbacks. He's not a starter, but I totally get why he's on the USMNT 23 right now.

Cannon hasn't really been out of the picture since his debut. Friendly debut in late 2018, was starting a continental final by summer 2019, started 2 of the 3 games he was eligible for in 2020. He missed out on like, two call-ups in 2019.

But anyway, I guess that's the problem for Yedlin. If Robinson, Dest, and Cannon are pretty much locks for callups, there isn't a place for Yedlin in the team barring injury or a collapse in form.

Well, he came out of January camp out of the picture and came back in. It was a short leaving out, but it was there.

That said, that is Yedlin's issue. That and his game isn't anywhere near what Berhalter is looking for. However, if Cannon slips...

Boyd played in a game! Entered in the 55th minute for Sivasspor in a 0-0 draw! He played soccer against real competition!

Been a while, damn. Club wastes no time playing him, though, which was nice.

Sivasspor won 1-4 in the end, the one goal by Ankara an own goal (ball bounced off the head of Oguz when he was running to recover a ball fumbled by the Siva keeper).

Must admit they looked better without Boyd.
