I love double headers. No idea how tough it is, but would love to see the Red Stars at SF someday as well.
Well if you start drinking at the bar while you wait for the bus then drink on the bus ride to the parking lot then drink in the parking lot before the game then drink during the game...I forgot what happens next....
It can be done legally. The wording of the law leaves some openings. The Fire were just too cheap to do it.
That was one way. Reggies beat it in a way the Fire probably couldn’t, that being a “party bus” is defined as a bus making more than one stop from the depot. So Reggies’ bar is the depot. The one stop is Bridgeview. Then the bus returns to the depot. Genius to have a bus depot/bar combo!
They now have a coach. https://chicagonisa.com/2021/02/02/cj-brown-named-chicago-nisa-technical-director-and-head-coach/
https://chicagonisa.com/2021/02/19/chicago-nisa-announces-front-office-additions/ The Chicago NISA Soccer Club announced the hiring of three additional employees to its staff. Adrian Garibay will serve as the club’s Managing Director of Team/Event Operations & Administration, Steve Livingstone as the club’s Chief Revenue Officer, and Walter Nolan-Cohn as the Director of Marketing & Communications. These three hirings are effective immediately.
if the twitter name is any indication, Chicago House Athletic Club is the name https://twitter.com/ChicagoHouse_AC
I like the colors. Not sure about the logo, which is kind of Fire Crownish, if we're honest about it.
In Bridgeview with season tickets costing $15 per game. I don’t think it’ll be enough to get more people than the Fire were able to draw there.
I don't think it'll be enough to get half the number of people there unless they do free parking and do some Veeck-style promotions
I will be getting season tickets and I am not having any expectations with attendance figures. Sure they will not draw 20K being a lower division team but I trust what Peter does an will do with this team. It will be nice to feel part of a club again after I felt like I was spit in the face by the Fire.
I am disappointed and I do not really like it. The name is odd. "AC" is weird for an American soccer team. This is one of the few times that an "FC" or "SC" would have actually helped. The colors are, I don't know, Irish/Côte d’Ivoire?!? The logo scream "housing project" but not a soccer/football team. I will say the logo/colors look a lot better on a scarf than it does on the webpage. [For the record, I am not a fan of Pequod Pizza, either] That being said, if I was still in Chicago, I would buy season tickets, as I know the team will be decent and the games/events will be fun. A team run by Peter Wilt and Bill Veeck's grandson should be interesting. As it is, I will go to a game or three as my schedule and the Pandemic allow.
Peter's McBride/Boca era Fulham jacket is my favorite piece of merch in that photo. I have a jersey from that era and it's one of the favorites in my collection. I also didn't notice the "CH" in the logo until just now. Will have to see what other merch they've got when I get home because their website is blocked at work.
