They're already calling Ziyech the flop of the season: https://www.caughtoffside.com/2021/02/20/ziyech-becomes-the-butt-of-fans-jokes-after-chelsea-cameo/
Lol, that's so stupid. Ziyech has been unlucky with the injuries, when he had a number of games in a row he was legit. This is a case just like at Ajax, if given some time and support he will become excellent. If Chelsea dump him now they're idiots, but if there's one team that cannot recognize great offensive talent it is Chelsea (Salah, De Bruyne, Lukaku). When Ziyech is bad he's useless (as we saw by Ajax) - but when he's good he's incredible.
Tuchel is also a first class nepotist who is blatantly favouring his compatriots (and heavy sunk cost investments) while sprouting nonsense like this: "For me it's clear that he needs to adapt to this kind of football, to this kind of league. He comes from the Dutch league, from a strong, strong Ajax squad but they were the benchmark in the league and it's not the same intensity and competition like it is here." As if Ziyech didn't show it against teams like Bayern Munich or Chelsea itself on a pretty consistent base... At this rate he'll also become the all-time Morocco national team topscorer. Tuchel laat zijn rotkop alweer zien. Hoop dat hij verliest— Henk Spaan (@HenkSpaan9) February 23, 2021 He had actually also a pretty decent start of the season. 0.57 - Among all players with at least 180 minutes played in the Premier League 2020-21, Hakim Ziyech recorded the highest Expected Assists-value per 90 minutes (0.57) while only Kevin de Bruyne created more chances p/90 (4.24) than @ChelseaFC's Ziyech (3.79). That’s the only thing PL have. Money. If Eredivisie had the same money, it would be the best league in the planet. Besides, Premier League is dominated by a coach that utilises the Dutch methods. I remember the arrogant English fans claiming how Guardiola’s style of football would be ineffective in the English game.
Like FSF, in the end money always rules. Every player wants to have a bigger house, nicer car and bigger yacht. Can't say I blame them
vdBeek not even on the bench today vs. Crystal Palace. Not sure what that means. Maybe he's being shopped around??
https://www.si.com/soccer/2021/03/0...gue-elimination-cristiano-ronaldo-pirlo-porto https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/14294226/juventus-crisis-title-bid-finances-ronaldo-pirlo/ This is so gratifying, the shithead Agnelli pushing for priviliges for clubs like Juve, get's shoved on the field of merit. Real and Barca next?
Juventus were so bad yesterday. They have about 3-4 decent players and the rest are really not good enough. They put themselves in this position by paying so much money for CR7 and now have nothing. They have a large debt on the new Arena and not supporters in the stands to cover the debt payment.
A lot of clubs are in this boat now though. Except for the big oil clubs maybe. They have money to burn. I'm not complaining though, all my oil stocks are booming right now (BP, Exxon, Chevron and Shell)
We are still going to be using oil and gas for the remainder of my lifetime!!!! (I only have shares in Chevron).
Thats what I tell everybody too. EV's are the way of the future, but for the majority of the planet to drive them is still a few decades off. So IMO oil will still have at least 1 or 2 good runs before its toast. You agree or disagree?? (and sorry for hijacking the thread....LOL)
@Brilliant Dutch - agree but don't think BP or Shell are as good investments as Chevron which is why I don't own them.
Koeman has one more season to salavage his career has a Barcelona coach. If he doesnt with expected new signing and under new president, he is highly likely to be shown the exist. KNVB will ready to pounce on him after that.
Chevron is really good. Here are my holdings so far (not including Shell). I bought around May of 2020
LaPorta has said he wants to sign Messi to an extension. Can the team really afford him? They have a lot of young unproven players and some older dead wood players. It's good enough for the Spanish League in terms of finishing in the top four but I don't know if it is good enough for CL football. One of the reasons they are pushing so hard for reform of the CL and these automatic seedings is too keep the money spigots open. If you look at the Barcelona balance sheet, would you want to buy a share of stock? I sure would not.
