Agree on Kane, but it’s a stretch to say we can’t do without Grealish. He’s by no means a sure starter and we have a tremendous amount of options in his position.
If anything, given the paucity of choice in deeper midfield, Henderson would be the bigger loss.

I don’t think I can recall a good England game with Henderson in midfield so difficult to agree. Grealish can play several positions and is by very far our most creative player playing a role that we’ve been missing since euro 96.

I would love to share your optimism. But usually, and I experienced it several times with Wilshere, these types of rumours turn out to be true. Let’s hope I’m wrong

We all went into meltdown over kane's injury. Let's see how this plays out before we get hysterical

Klopp on hendersons injury 'its not good'. Means at least we won't be stuck with a rice Henderson partnership

Henderson is a class act, it's Rice that's as a opposing player, he's slow and lethargic

I agree. Hes currently our best midfielder but hes only effective with a more creative forward thinking player

Pickford played well today against Liverpool.

Ideally you should play Smith-roe of Arsenal alongside a fit Henderson

He’s more of an attack minded midfielder, not saying he can’t play deeper but not seen it as yet. As usual he’s in good company with the many attack minded players we currently have. Finding that pure central midfielder like a prime Kroos is something we are desperately short off. I’m pretty sure he will be with the U21’s.

Mount was tremendous today, but again he tends to play further forward.
My point on Henderson is that if Southgate insists on two deep midfielders then the drop off from Hendo to whoever is next in Southgate’s little head (Phillips, Winks?) is bigger than any drop from Grealish to Foden, Mount, Rowe Smith, Sancho etc.

I would give consideration to Bamford after I saw a stat that he has pressured defenders more than any other striker in the league.
That is the type of player we need in the system .

Maybe I'm just believing what I want to, but I'd be really surprised if he's broken a bone and still nobody in the mainstream press has picked up on it. I guess we'll find out tomorrow.

If I’m honest though, if Winks is the answer to our problems in that position then we’re in trouble. Think I’d rather take a chance on playing Maddison in a central midfield rather than Winks.

Winks is a fairly limited player, and his lack of game time at Spurs is a problem for him, but I've always felt we tended to look better when he's playing as he moves the ball much quicker than Henderson or Rice.
Playing both Rice and Henderson we always seem to have a little pause when they get the ball, whereas Winks is already looking to play it before he receives it.
Mount is perfectly capable of playing that role in a midfield two.

Exactly. There's debates about who to take in the winger/attacking midfielder positions as we have plenty of options. There's nobody that's nailed down the last midfield place in the squad, let alone anyone who hasn't been involved screaming out to be included. Maddison and Barnes are likely at the moment to miss out - there's nobody comparable in the midfield roles.

Mount is a must for me and then it’s one of either Rice or Henderson (presuming we go 3-4-3.)

There's definitely a place to play for, and he's probably doing more than anyone to come up on the outside, but to me he's always been someone who does everything to a decent level, but doesn't really have anything in his game that stands out. If he can maintain his form, then he's got a chance, but he really needs to get a more settled position at Everton to start to define his game - hopefully this run in the team is the start of that.

I think next month’s fixtures are going to be a bit of a farce tbh. It’s qualifying for the World Cup and how many Nations are likely to be without their best Squads due to quarantine problems? We’re not massively effected but Bellingham would be a miss for the U21 tournament however other Countries could be heavily penalised.

Still nothing on grealish. It would have got out by now especially as villa are playing today. This all started when villa fans couldn't see grealish on the training pitch in some photos. Im calling bullshit
