Some 'temporary' rules that were used for last year's shortened season are returning in 2021, including starting extra-innings with a runner on 2nd base and 7-inning games that are part of double-headers. There is some good news though: The NL is scrapping the DH. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id...-7-inning-doubleheaders-runners-second-extras
Good move IMO. Although I would prefer them to simply not make the baseball fields so small in the first place. Watching outfielders have to cover a lot of ground out there and chase down balls hit off the wall is so much more enjoyable to watch than a 320-foot HR.
1970s Soccer USA Dutch superstar Johan Neeskens was a standout baseball player in his youth and attracted interest from scouts for the Chicago Cubs, who offered him a developmental contract. Baseball is quite popular in The Netherlands and Neeskens played until forced to choose between soccer and baseball at the age of 16, but had been the top hitter at the European Youth Baseball Championship in Rome in 1966.
Good riddance! Officially banned from the MLB. It was a good run! This letter is priceless. #TrumpWon #TrumpPride https://t.co/51RiuA75YK pic.twitter.com/slmiKUdS5T— Dion Cini (@dioncini) June 27, 2021

A little college fun for you all. The Texas pitcher's routine involved stopping to look at his feet for 2-3 seconds after coming set. The Texas Tech base runner made him pay for it. https://larrybrownsports.com/cbaseball/video-texas-tech-beats-texas-steal-home/594011

.@ClaytonKersh22 was brilliant with 7 perfect innings. pic.twitter.com/tPTYm559g0— MLB (@MLB) April 13, 2022 If it's a no-hitter, whatever. Yank him. Clayton Kershaw has thrown one. But there have been more than 220,000 games in MLB history. There have been 23 perfect games.Everything -- especially a pitch count of 80 -- is lining up to at least let Kershaw try. You cannot pull him.— Jeff Passan (@JeffPassan) April 13, 2022 We have to get fans back. We have to entertain our fans. We have to keep fans first in our minds. OK, then definitely let’s pull Clayton Kershaw from a perfect game through 7 innings and 80 pitches. #Ridiculous— Joel Sherman (@Joelsherman1) April 13, 2022
The Nationals dodged a bullet by not paying Anthony Rendon the huge money he got from LAA. He's been terrible, especially this year, but he also did this last night. After 4528 plate appearances right handed, he decided to bat lefty with an 8-0 lead against a Tampa Bay position player who was pitching.
