He’s born in ES so he was only eligible to play for us. No switch required. I’m surprised it’s taken them this long to call him in tbh
Oscar just wasted months for jack shit. Freaking embarrassing and that agent better be jobless soon if not already. El periodo de traspasos de la segunda división de España cerró este lunes y el futbolista salvadoreño Óscar Cerén no encontró club. https://t.co/opllEcsOHR— EL GRÁFICO (@elgraficionado) February 1, 2021
Kevin Santamaria have joined club Club Sport Chavelines Juniors who currently play in the second division of Peru External Links: https://www.elgrafico.com/futbol/Santamaria-jugara-con-el-Chavelines--de-Peru-20210203-0016.html
I’m glad he’s still in Peru, but I was hoping he had drummed up some interest with the rest of the first division clubs.
Disappointing really. He stuck out in his club and made a difference for the team. While the rest of the club was not so great. A lot of Peruvian fans thought he could get signed by a bigger club in Peru. How didn't Santamaria not manage to get signed by at least by a club at the bottom of the table? It doesn't make sense to me.

An absolute debacle, but fortunately it seems like he’ll be back with Alianza and playing again. Óscar Cerén podría regresar a Alianza FC
Hope it goes well for him but I can see him getting a contract and then being loaned to FT Lauderdale CF which plays in the 3rd Division.
Dustin Corea has returned to El Salvador, joining CD FAS #FAS¡Bienvenido @DustinCorea a Club Deportivo FAS!🔴🔵🐯 pic.twitter.com/ZgMZVQGK2t— Club Deportivo FAS (@CDeportivoFAS) February 23, 2021
Junior Burgos has left Las Vegas Lights, and is returning to El Salvador to play for Chalatenango. Bienvenido Efrain Burgos. pic.twitter.com/HerN9zvJDj— A.D Chalatenango (@ADChalatenango) February 26, 2021
Tomas, Dustin and Efrain must be going to El Salvador teams to get consistent minutes and to get in better position to be on the national team for these qualifiers. At least I hope that is where their mindset is.
It’s the last shot for all of them basically, we have Qualifiers vs small Caribbean teams and the Gold Cup for 2021 so it’s going to get busy real soon.
Out of the three Tomas will probably have the best shot. Efrain is nothing to write home about most you ever hear from him is when he scores a golazo and that’s it. Dustin is so inconsistent we know he has the talent but given how many teams he’s bailed on his career I have a hard time calling him up. But I won’t complain if he does.
For Burgos, agreed. He’s 32 and had a very mediocre career. Granitto and Corea (both 28 this year) are still young enough to be able to aim for 2026 World Cup. Although, once again, they haven’t had very noteworthy careers; especially Corea. Sad, because I remember all three players getting hyped up as the next best prospects for Selecta.
Yeah Corea should have never left FAS in the 1st place imo since leaving did nothing for his career, Granitto at least tried twice to get into the MLS by playing for B teams but then wasted too much time playing for those Miami teams in the lower US division for Money. I can see both having a shot depending on how they do this upcoming season, Burgos not so much.
I recall Granitto trialing for FC Dallas and some Portuguese team back in 2014 but nothing materialised. He just wasn’t that great after the 2013 U-20 World Cup.
Did not realize that Alex Roldan rejected a call up to Guate so that means that he is still in play for us. He should definitely be a target for FESFUT he is young and has participation with his team.
