It sucks both ways cuz the red zone show is also often showing stuff that is over a minute old, which really sucks in a bar environment as some wanker on a phone will often blab out spoilers.

Unless a bar can only dedicate 2 or less TVs to soccer it really makes no sense for them to show the golazo show IMO. Showing entire games on multiple TV across the pub fulfills everything that the red zone show-type person could possibly want.

As long as they're all from the same source (and they should be, given that it's a bar with DirecTV), RedZone should be behind the live channels. Even stuff live on RedZone still has to bounce around their studios/production before it hits the viewer's TV.

Supporters for the NFL? I wouldn't have thought the NFL would use that term, but oh well.

Negative. Given some games are coming in via DirecTV (CBS) and most others are only available through media streaming (CBS all-access) you can't guarantee the feeds will be synched up.

Wouldn't Sunday Ticket be via DirecTV, being a bar we're talking about?

I didn't think CBS All-Access was meant for commercial establishments. Besides, doesn't it only have the local NFL game?

For people watching replays of today's UCL matches:

The Leipzig-ManU match comes with a spoiler of sorts relating to the PSG-Başakşehir match at around the 70th minute.

Well, that information is kind of a spoiler of its own.

But the unspoken rule among world feed commentators not to give results from other matches always goes out the window on the final match day of any competition, be it the final group stage match of a tournament or final round of the league season or even earlier when qualification to the knockout stage or a championship/European spot/relegation is up for grabs.

Therefore, it's a must to watch the other match from the group simultaneously on a second screen if you want a spoiler-free experience when one match is dependent upon the other.

Although this does not spoil results, I am going to put some info about PSG's Tuesday match in white text. The gist of the post is a kudos to CBS and I do not discuss goals/result. Scroll over the text below if you care about the post.

I could not find the PSG game on Tuesday and figured CBS screwed up again, but avoided searching to see if maybe the game had been delayed because I didn't want to spoil other results. Then the PSG game popped up on Wednesday. Anyway, the kudos to CBS is that they showed all of the first day's match up to the point when the players walked off. Then the CL logo/anthem and cut to players walking out for the match to pick up in minute 13 (or whenever). This is not something Fox would have done or TBS, so kudos to CBS for presenting the full match, even if across two days, and capturing the historical accuracy of this match.

Just a pointer for those with a monthly All Access subscription:
I've tried to cancel with the intent of renewing in February in time for the Champions League knockout stages and I was offered a free month if I agree not to cancel. So I took up on the offer and now I won't be charged until February.

So I just received a notification from my CBS all access app that it has been rebranded to Paramount+. Not clear what it means to me in practice. Is this yet another bundle?

    Arrrghhh! Stop the madness!

CBSAA will become Paramount+ on March 1st. What they've done is just expanded the service, it will include more channels under the Paramount umbrella as well as movies. So instead of just being able to watch CBS shows the next day you can watch shows from a bunch of the Paramount owned networks, plus the library will be expanded to include more shows from those networks.

The price is staying the same, for now.

Not sure, Malcolm, the British guys says he is not a fan of football. And the captain and the engineer are American in every way, including sports. The Volcan. or course, finds sports to emotional. I'll keep you posted though. :)

So football didn’t become more popular in America by 2152. Must be the fault of NBC putting matches on Peacock.

The new format introduced for the 2149 Club World Cup was also key.

It was a process. In 2137, the top 2 CONCACAF teams entered the competition.

In 2141, the top 4 CONCACAF teams.

In 2145, the top 8 CONCACAF teams.

And finally, in 2149, the top 10 CONCACAF teams made the tournament which was the debut of the first MLS team (note - #10 Necaxa elected not to participate so newest and 50th MLS team - FC Boise Idaho - were invited).

Does anybody know if they will broadcast at least the semi-finals or Final on CBS Sports network / CBS or will it all be only streaming on what will become Paramount + ?

Interesting that they only show one match on CBSSN this week. I guess technically that's more than the zero they showed during the group stage but another option could've been to show 1 per day (since whip around coverage doesn't make sense when there are only 2 matches played at once).

Given this it makes it worth it to pay for the CBS All Access for the next two months (IMO).
